Question about clothing unlocks

(Dr. Bagel) #1

If I unlock a new clothing item for with one of my characters, is it also available for any of my other characters? Or do I have to unlock it again with the other characters?

Does this also apply to abilities, weapons and weapon attachments?

Once you unlock something it stays unlocked and can be accessed by any of your other characters.

Not true. Once you unlock a weapon or attachment it stays unlocked.

Clothing and abilities do not transfer between characters.

(DarkangelUK) #4

Clothing does transfer between chars. They’ve always said if you see a low level with some sweet gear on, chances are he’s been playing a while. Abilities won’t transfer however.

I thought so.

(CapnHowdy21) #6

I was also under the impression that clothing unlocks, in fact all unlocks where for every character.

(Linsolv) #7

Not abilities, though they’re not an “unlock” in the truest sense. They’re more like a talent build in WoW. I can get extra money on my main character in WoW and buy my alt’s way to nice equipment, but I can’t “buy” his way to 10 more talent points. Same concept.

(CapnHowdy21) #8

No not abilities, like you said, they aren’t really unlocks.

Technically, you can. You can level all of your characters but one without playing them at all

source…?

(riptide) #11

I honestly do not remember which article or interview it was… but it was along the lines of “You will be able to earn XP for your other characters while playing your favorite”

I’ll check later but I’m sure somebody will chime in with a link.

Feature was cut. Sorry.

(Whydmer) #13

yeah I have to agree with Linsolv, that feature was discussed but ultimately dropped.

(riptide) #14

Yea I see that now… I’m sure it will be implemented again at some point since it was supposedly cut to make a deadline. Hopefully the first or second patch or DLC. Because I really looked forward to that and I don’t find it to be ideal having to level 10 characters. I just want a game I can scrim in ASAP and be the optimal spec for the team.

(Linsolv) #15

You can level 1 character, and respec at 20 if necessary and only have to regain 1 level.

(riptide) #16

Yea I saw that but it’s not as convenient as running around as one of my “Pub XP Builds” a.k.a. heavy medic/engy 90% of the time while leveling my various match ready builds.

I consider that feature more for fine tuning or to adapt to any future ability changes.
