q3map2 won't run!

When I double-clicked q3map.exe, it immediately died.
Help me! :frowning:

Of course!
That’s because Q3Map2 is no fancy-pancy graphical program but a console program. You need to run it using the console, running a batch file or from another program like Q3Map2Build.

Now, have you already read a tutorial about mapping or tried to follow others as to solve your problem?

Actually q3map2.exe is a command line tool.
So you have to run it from command line with parameters (options, switches etc.).
Or from within Radiant.
It’s also possible to create a batch file that contains the options and switches.

Oh yes, whilst nUllSkillZ was unaware of my post he did tell the most frequently used way of starting Q3Map2, namely the GTKRadiant map editor…
It’s so obvious I forgot to add it to my post. :lol:
