You need to specify what game you want to use, with the -game X switch:

-game quake3
-game jk2
-game wolf
-game et
-game ja
-game sof2
-game tenebrae
-game etut

etc.

OK one of my old maps i can undo in a map with this commadn:

q3map2.exe -convert -format map -game ja C:\meinemap.bsp

but one of my olds give these error

Erorr**
c:\my.bsp is not a RBSP file

whats now? nad i have found this command it makes the same error:

q3map2.exe -convert -format map -fs_basepath “C:/path/to/gamedata/” -game ja “C:/path/to/gamedata/base/maps/mapname.bsp”

And i have to convert a srf file and a nva file. How i can do that?

Please answer

(Davros) #5

try putting -game ja as the first switch after q3map2.exe

(Major) #6

with this:

q3map2.exe -game ja -convert -format map C:\my.bsp

i get a srf but no .map

Can some one give me more reasons or commands to convert it?

The result would be:

Loading C:\my.bsp
— Convert BSP to MAP —
writing C:\my_converted.map
0 seconds elapsed

(Major) #7

And can some one give me a workshop to convert it?

please help me please!

(Major) #8

Have no one any idea?

The BSP you’re trying to convert isn’t a JA map if it complains about the BSP not being an RBSP file. Figure out what game it’s from and use the correct -game switch.

BTW, I don’t condone converting other people’s maps and ripping them off for your own maps without the original author’s permission.
