q3map2 can't find my ASE!

(Sine Nomen) #1

The file is definitely there, capitalized .ASE and all. After I compile, JK2 loads an earlier version. Note that this is only when using a .bat to compile - the options from Radiant’s bsp menu work, strangely enough. Any idea what might be causing this, or rather, how I can get it to work?

“File not found 'models/map_objects/ships/huttcaravel.ASE”

Thanks in advance.

Post the BAT and the compile line from Radiant, copy and paste from the project options.

At first glance I think you forgot your -meta switch.

Erm, I know this could sound strange, but did you perhaps make a PK3 already with the model etc? In that case you could just delete that PK3, because it is preferred over the actual model in the normal directory.
If you don’t have one never mind- was just an idea. (Speaking because of experience here :D)

  1. Lack of meta sounds like the problem. I know you’ve only been using it for final compiles, but I recommend turning on -meta and -patchmeta. It shouldn’t take long, even in your map. I recompiled Kejim, and BSP and VIS took no time on those settings.

  2. No, Tigris, unpackaged resources have precedence over PK3s.
