Q3map2 2.5.5. test-10 crashing

I’m trying to test some bumpmapping stuff but q3map2 keeps crashing at store surface lightmaps.

it’s a small EF map that has 12 func_groups, only one of which has more than one brush. All of which have _lightmapscale .1.

here’s my compile options

“C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant\q3map2_5.exe” -connect 127.0.0.1:39000 -leaktest -patchmeta -meta -game ef “C:…map”
“C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant\q3map2_5.exe” -connect 127.0.0.1:39000 -vis -game ef “C:…bsp”
“C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant\q3map2_5.exe” -connect 127.0.0.1:39000 -light -extrawide -patchshadows -faster -super 2 -thresh 0.1 -game ef “C:…bsp”

I cut out the paths for ease of reading.
I’m compiling with an older version of q3map2 right now, hopefully this one will work.

well I tried whatever version came with GTK1.2.13 but got the same result.

Don’t use -extrawide AND -super 2.

For best results with your bumpmapping, use -super 2 -thresh 0.1. The -extrawide argument is equivalent to -super 2 -filter. Filtering tends to blur the bumpmapping, so you should avoid -filter on maps with it.

Can you try the compile with -v, and post the last bit of text it prints before crashing?
