q3map_skylight...

Hey…

how does q3map_skylight work?
Are there any switches?

By the way, Ã? do not have the time to look for new versions of q3map2
every day. But after some weeks many features and fixes have been made. My last version is 2.3.33, are there any major changes?
Is there a documentation (changes, all functions, switches…)?
I think a problem in this forum is, that there are too many posts. You can´t find out what´s really important. (This post might be one of the more unimportant ones, too?!?) :bump:

Thx in advance

I think that you have to open your eyes.
News about Q3map2 are always in the first topic of this forum. If you want to know what’s changed since 2.3.33, download the latest version (2.3.38 as you can see in the first topic) and read the readme.txt included.

q3map_skylight <brightness> <iterations>

Brightness specifies how much light you want your sky to generate. Iterations specifies the number of time the sky hemisphere (or hemicube to be specific) is subdivided.

Good values for brightness are between 20 and 110. Good values for iterations are 3 to 5. Increasing iterations by 1 will result in an exponential amount of time increase for sky lighting, so be careful.

As for documentation and new releases, PlanetQuake as well as a number of other websites announce new releases of Q3Map2, usually posting a section of the changelog so you can immediately see what’s new. Also included with every version of Q3Map2 is a comprehensive changelog documenting every change and addition.

Thanks for the help ydnar.

Old_Fellow: Sorry, my fault,… was a bit stupid.
I do not want to criticize this forum. You got a solution for almost every problem here. Forget what I said about it.
