Thanks. I feared I would have to do this…
Removing the surface lights but keeping the glow stage, and adding a switched light entity nearby should work.
And I asked our modelers a while ago to have separate light textures on their models for the surface light…

Now that gives a second problem:
I would need to know which color the light entity has to be, namely have the same color values Q3Map2 would calculate as average color of the lightImage.
Before I start to write such a tool, is there already one?

I mean a tool that does input any Texture in JPEG/TGA/PNG format and outputs the corresponding average color value? :uhoh:

Unless Ydnar adds a new switch -avgcols that simply prints out the average color for each lightimage texture and then exits :slight_smile:

Photoshop’s histogram, or scaling an image to 1x1 and then getting that color.

heh thats too easy, but not very practicable with more than a few textures. :moo:
