Q3Map 2.5.5-test-11 -- enhanced lightstyles (including ET)

(ydnar) #1

Get it here. If you don’t already have GTK 2.0 installed, you’ll need to grab the glib-2.0 DLL here as well.

This version has the following fixes:

  • Lightstyled surfaces no longer “holodeck” with r_vertexlight 1.
  • Lightstyled surfaces now use external lightmap TGAs. These must be included with your BSP when distributed.
  • Enemy Territory “implicit” shaders now work with lightstyles.

I wanted to get this out for this weekend so everyone can bang on it a bit, as it’s probably the version that will ship with the next release of GtkRadiant. Aslo, I will have no time to work on it this weekend (good news, having my San Francisco debut behind the turntables @ POW on saturday).

There is a sample Enemy Territory map using lightstyles with implicit shaders here.

** NOTE: YOU MUST COMPILE ENEMY TERRITORY MAPS WITH THE -external SWITCH IF THEY USE LARGE TERRAIN LIGHTMAPS. This prevents the crash at the end of the light phase. **

Cheers,
y

When I try to compile with test11, I get an error saying I don’t have libglib-2.0-0.dll in my path. I did a search of my harddrive, and I don’t have this library. Anyone else have this problem?

BTW, good luck this weekend ydnar! If I was in town, it sounds like something I’d check out.

Nice 1 m8! Now I can include the lightstyles stuff I’ve added to ut_nimrod in beta 3.0 of UrT -would have been gutted if I’d had to leave em out cos of the vertex problem- this feature rocks
Cheers & gl with the gig,

The next release of GtkRadiant uses GTK 2.0, hence the new library. I’ve mirrored a copy of the DLL here.

After Dling the libglib-2.0-0.dll I get the message that I’m also missing a file called libintl-1.dll

Bleh, here.

GTK 2.0. I need to sort out the libs issue, because it’s starting to become a pain…

I’m using q3maptoolz, and having DLd both DLLs my compile seems to be working, but the DOS type window where the 1…2…3… normally appears only has the command options in it and the 1…2…3… is not appearing (but the log file is being updated with the numbers). Presumably I’m still missing something, or should I have deleted some of the DLLs I had originally?

Hmmm maybe you should have this build installed in a seperate directory and copy the dll’s needed to that directory too?

Maybe you should give GtkRadiant 1.3.11 a go… It includes all the files needed and you can install it right beside the ‘old’ 1.2.13… make sure to make a copy of your entities.def file if you use a modiefied version

If you don’t like it, rename the 1.3.11 entities.def to entities.1.3.11 and copy your modified version and use 1.2.13 again.

I’m doing the same here and it works as a charm

Good Luck Mate!
