Pyro class for DLC?

(HandOfGod) #1

I know it wont happen this time around but I was wondering if anyone thought it might make it into future dlc, after they reduce the lag enough to handle a flame thrower? I think it may be a possibilty.

Also, how many would like to see pyro class in the game? Im not certain if I would like to see it or not. I just think its a possibility.

I’d love to see a flamethrower in this game if possible and balanced.

What would a pyro class do? Objective wise?

The flamer is a good idea especially if you could bounce the flames of walls around corners.

yeah I don’t know that we actually need an entire pyro class, but flamethrowers would be nice as you say.

Unfortunately, in order for them to make new class, they’d need to make new maps for said class to have cater to it. Brink needs a crap load of work done to it before they even…or should I say IF they even entertain the notion of a new class. Not happenin’, folks.

No as far as a Flamethrower as a weapon, I can see that somewhat working. It’d obviously be another Med/Heavy weapon. But on that note, I’d rather them add more light weapons before they add med/heavy ones.

(KnollDark) #6

no class just heavy weapon

(BROTOX) #7

They should also add a facial/body scar called “charred”… third degree burn victim. That way my Freddy Kruger character can be legit.

(Jess Alon) #8

No class… because why would security have pyros? It’s an uncertain war between both sides. And they don’t always hate the other side. They are just doing their jobs or pursuing their interests.

Flamethrower also is a weapon that needs a lot of maintainence. I couldn’t envision resistance having one that doesn’t blow the user up when the trigger is held down.

Plus I’d rather the shotguns really work like shotguns instead of adding another close range weapon.

(Nairb296) #9

The flamethrower could be like a bottom attachment, you know like CoD lol.
It’ll prolly be a wee bit op though if it would be an attachment tho.

w/e I could see it as a heavy weapon if it were ever to be in brink.

… now images of the flamethrower in Wolf:ET comes back to haunt me… oh nostalgia.

I would dig flamethrowers very much, but more wolf:ET style than tf2 style. Or maybe not flamethrowers, but something with similar spirit.

What happens if we turn friendly fire on then?

your team better stay out of the way

Excellent idea.

(Ultima) #14

I agree, flamethrower as either a Heavy Weapon, or as a bottom attachment, not a whole new class. I just don’t think a new class is a good idea, they would need new maps, and what would that class do on the current maps? Would it just be unusable, because I really can’t see them adding new objectives to current maps, and I really can’t see a whole new class added in the game. Maybe in a sequel, but not in this one.

(Terminator514) #15

How about as a support class like a medic? That way there does not need to be objectives since the flamethrower class could just be used to clear out clusters of enemies.

(dabis) #16

That’s the only way I could ever see a new class being added, if it was a purely support/defensive/offensive class. That would make it so that they wouldn’t have to edit every map to add extra objectives for said new class. It would be cool to see a class that can further buff pre-existing buffs on all characters once, or do other odd things, but in the end, I think the game works fine as is without a new class, but I agree if implemented correctly, a flamethrower could be pretty awesome.

Solution looking for a problem. But considering Splash Damage managed to drag medics into completing (escort) objectives, I’m sure they would come up with something. There could be a forest on Ark you need to burn down.

(Qbix) #18

New classes are impossible to implement without reworking every existing map, so omgee nowai!

Why is everyone so excited with the flamethrower? Probably because it would further reduce the necessarity of aiming well, right? Beside that, wait for the fire effects of the pyro mine and the napalm grenade first before you think about flamethrowers at all.

Dlc needs to hurry up

They have a pyro mine, napalm grenade and pyro skin, why not a support pyro? Would be effective on those f’n spawn campers, maybe. Certainly useful defending choke points.

I actually think the light should get the FT, just dont make it super powerful. The Pyro could be a support class as stated above. No need to rework the entire game for it. Also objectives could be added to new DLC for the Pyro. Why have bits and pieces of a class but not the actual class?

Also, I would like to see the old style(TF) spy/operative grenades that made you hallucinate if they hit you.
