pushing players - any brush entities that can do this?

I need to know if it’s possible to construct a brush entuty that will force the player in a certain direction. I want to make rip currents in a large body of water, as a deterrent to stop players swimming too far away from the shore. Is that possible?

I saw target_push but had assumed because it was a point entity and because the description said it was for jump-pads that it wasn’t what I was looking for.
