Public lobbies, kings, max level 10 etc.

Very soon we will have private lobbies to play with friends. However I think that lobbies will work better than ‘dedicated’ servers right now, why? Well, pretty easy to understand:

  1. Lobby has a king(not host since the game is not P2P), king can change settings, can force auto balance, can kick cheaters and trolls (Warface is a good example how it works). If I have to choose public lobbies and pseudo servers without control, i will pick public lobbies.

  2. Dedicated servers are great of course, but if community has rights to be an admin. It’s so fuc***g hard to kick/ban cheater from server. It’s so hard to call team balance. I don’t want to play on servers like that, where everybody can do everything and nobody is watching this.

  3. Right now we need max level 10 servers because only beginners are complaining about unbalanced matches on standard servers without restrictions, maybe they will be more willing to still play on max servers to get play on their levels.

In terms of level restrictions servers, I think they need to do a better job at putting new players into the server restricted stuff. I hate playing in casual and then a level 1 pops up on either team. Even level 5s barely can hold their own, let alone someone who just started.

Even more important than private servers imo is getting the new player experience better. While it seems like new people are still joining the game, it doesn’t seem like enough new players are staying.

In my opinion beginners should be forced to play on max server until specific level because of reasons like unbalanced matches.

It would be great if private lobbies could function as a substitute for (public) rented servers. If the lobbies persisted after each game finishes, accepted new/late-joiners and had an option to make them visible in the server browser (maybe with a customizable title).

Heck, I would pay money to be able to spawn those, QL premium style (particularly if you could apply a limited colour palette to the name ).
