Pub match with friends

EG: a game of 5v5 you can join with one other friend
a game of 6v6 you can join with two friends
a game of 8v8 you can join with three friends

Then you can play with some of your buddys for a bit better teamplay, without being able to stack teams.

Other idea’s welcome

It’s coming, apparently. :3

That’s good to hear, im thinking it would probably better for 5v5 and 7v7’s only, being able to only join with one friend in a 5v5 and two friends in a 7v7

otherwise in matches that are 6v6 for example being able to have 2 extra friends gives you 50% of the team that are actually playing together with the possibility of another 3 players that are playing together also joining your team while the other team is complete randoms albeit with similar skill level.

Wouldn’t be good I think, unless there can only be one small squad per team. but then you would miss out on the opportunity of 6v6’s with 2teams against 2 teams, which would be good fun IMO

MM with parties is a nice thing, but what you aren’t taking into consideration that even if people joined a match as a party, there’s no assuring they’ll get to play on the same team. Maybe I have a flawed view on the whole party MM deal, but I’d imagine it finding a server and then just sprinkling the players in there, not stacking them to an assigned team.

For example, if a 6v6 server has 7 people playing, and a party of 4 joins in, unless the other team is getting spawnraped and people are leaving, they can’t physically all join the same team. Even then, them stacking an inferior team would turn the match for the better, allowing for (hopefully) more balanced play.

I regularly play with one or two friends, and if we want to play in the same team, we have to do some ridiculous spectatorwaiting BS to even have a chance of stacking a team. It’s very impractical, better off to just play.

Not to say this idea is bad, if the party MM were to stack all of the people on the same side, this would be very much necessary. But I don’t see it working that way, unless it would somehow combine two parties of the same size to an empty server. Sounds a bit impractical again, but plausible to some degree.

I’m afraid at the thought of how the mm will handle parties. We just reached a decent balance now i don’t want to see it go.

Party pooling can be a solution. Parties are visible to browsing just like servers, but they are strictly invite only by the party leader. When a party is ready, they can browse a server with Open for Parties with a corresponding party size.

Eg.

Party of 3 + Party of 4 may go up against Party of 5 + Party of 3. A filler can just randomly join the other party to balance the match.
