PSA on Experience Points

I felt like writing this to inform players both new and old how XP works exactly due to some not understanding the XP counters and wondering what they might be doing wrong, along with their 3 mission reward titles

Hunter Slay is about player damage, XP that appears as a reddish orange when enemies are killed or offensive abilities (mines, grenades, air strikes) are used they give you a small xp bonus just for using them, neutralizing enemy deployable also count.

Objective Monkey is all about the main objectives of the game, repairing, destroying, disarming, arming, guarding, delivering, and returning data cores is the name of the game, being an engineer covers most of these quicker than rest, anything the bosses yell at you over, being a defender gives you a slow bonus for every couple of minutes you play.

Water is all about the teamwork and support you give each other and appears as blue, Are you a Fire-Support? Drop ammo or point your friends to the nearest ammo station you’ve deployed. Medic? Health kids and revives, Recon? toss out your detection tool. Staying near your teammates gives you a slow bonus to your support xp.

Appreciate the gesture, but anyone not capable of figuring this out themselves will hardly read/understand your post.

More interestingly: badge-XP is in the category of “badge xp”. If you get 30 revives, you’re doing something right, but the badges don’t help towards waterboy.

With ammo and medpacks, you want to score a direct hit. I’m not sure if the direct-hit-xp counts towards your quest, but direct hits also lower the support ability’s CD so you can spam more.

Another no-brainer lots and lots of people forget: only one guy can repair/plant/diffuse. If you “help” your engineer repairing, you’re an easy AoE target: that one Fragger was certainly happy when he killed 1 repairing guy and 4 guys with their small tools in their hands standing in a circle around him, wiggling it a bit every so often.

They really need to find a way to cement “someone’s repairing, guard them” into peoples heads. Along with when someone is picking another up.

I think some confusion probably arises from Waterboy ( at least ) being quite buggy and picky about what it actually registers.
