PS3 Users - Bare Bones Game Type

(BallsPartyof2) #1

I’m going to try and start a Bare Bones game type. This will have to be a custom game. I will set it up and send invites through the lobby.

Game Type is as follow: Start off with a level 1, We play with FF on, buff comand post on, but you can not spend any points on abilities. I want us all to get to level 24 and then talk on how we will spend our points to make a new char… I want to play with no abilities, just weapons attachments and stock perks and your shooting skills. It may take a couple of nights to get it populated but I think it would be a good change, try something different.

What do you guys think?

If your interested, post up or send me a friend request - BallsPartyof2

Sounds intriguing. If I’m online and able to play, I’d be down for this.

Just need to figure out which character to nuke

It does sound interesting, but I’m not willing to delete one of my characters :(.

WOW! Has everyone really put all 10 char to level 24 already. I kept a couple on purpose just in case I wanted to change a tatoo to a DLC tat. Well I dont want anyone really to NUKE there char. I just thought a true challenge would bare to the bones. I’ll see where this thread goes. I did’nt realize that maybe most of the community has all char to level 24.

This sounds like an interesting gametype. I am on xbox though. :frowning:

Now that I’ve had my morning coffee. Really you don’t have to NUKE a char. Just a reset on abilities and don’t spend any of them.

I like the idea of starting from scratch and getting to 20/24 ‘the hard way’. I would also add this caveat: medium build only… Since it’s the only available body type until level 5 anyway

I think it’s a really intriguing idea (playing a set of matches with no abilities)…to reduce to the core gameplay, i guess, right? should be fun. I’m on brink a bit less these days, but hit me up (if im on) or post something here if you have a time in mind. i only have 4 dudes, and really only use 2.5 of them, so i’ve got a slot for this.

~No Downed Fire
~No Turrets
~No Self-Revive
~No Soldier grenade spam
~No EMPs or Caltrops
~Minimal buffs

Could be very interesting gameplay

I blame El Shaddai and/or Deus Ex: HR.

Of course, the last couple nights I’ve been in Borderlands…

Soldier grenade spam is still possible with eznade :).

The other idea that goes with this game type was our char customizing. I think it would be cool if all our R side char wore no shirts, show off our char tats, pick a pair of pants and all of us would pick our own color but the same, and rock whatever you want for the head. Same with the S side. Just a thought. It would more like a team vs team with a theme to it.
This would be a lot of fun but we need to get some people together first to throw up a custom game. I say run whatever body type you want.

EZ nade spam depends on if this is truly only level 1 chars, or if de-spec’d level 6+ are ok…
if truly level 1, then it’s hard to lug the EZ with a medium…

ES was pretty cool, but DE:HR is amazing (if you like that type of game). and my ocd game completionist tendencies are only amplified by deadlines IRL. oops!

Well it isn’t Level 1, its whatever level you want, just not a single ability point can be spent. Bare Bones…

No reloading while running…
No xtra health…
No xtra blip…
No fast defuseing…
