PS3 Users - Appreciation Thread

Tonight I run a final test on V1.0 of the two PS3 Brink themes I’ve compiled… the previews look as such:

Each theme will have 11 background pictures that rotate. I couldn’t find a whole lot of Brink-related icons that made sense to replace the main XMB ones, but I have found and replaced 10 sub-icons.

Once I’ve confirmed that both themes are 100% functional, if any of you would like a copy, feel free to PM me. I am absolutely open to suggestion/critique on ways to make these better (e.g. make more use of in-game icons).

Of course: All due recognition to those artists whose creative work I’ve used in these themes, as well as to SplashDamage and Bethesda, for giving me a game to be passionate enough about to put forth this effort.

I’m playing sporadically these days (thanks to EDF: Insect Armageddon) unless I can get in with a good group of mic’d players who don’t obsess over their KDR’s more than winning matches.

Well, lesson learned… Al Gore’s Interwebz doesn’t like sharing P3T files.

Has no problem with ZIPs tho~

Lookin’ pretty slick, there. If you’re looking for icons, I’d suggest going to some other theme sites and finding ones with icons you like. I downloaded a bunch of themes a while back just because I liked the icons and wanted to use them in my own themes (which never materialized).

You can check around, but I don’t think it’s possible at the moment. I think that’s one of many projects “the hackers” are working on.

I said it to get a response because it seems people only respond to others they know. And thanks for showing how dumb you are by opening your mouth like that.

And great job Amish. They are coming along great from what i see. I wouldn’t mind sporting the resistance one.

I got in a match yesterday with you and Oz and VG_junky and some others (shipyard), but i was soooooo laggy i had to drop out. I thought there was something wrong with my interwebz, but as it turned out, Google Music decided to try and upload my (obnoxious) mp3 collection w/o telling me (and take all my bandwidth)…

i trust you’re finding a few more people to play with these days?

Actually yes i have been. i an in the unofficial chat thanks to tapgrillz. And if u would like you can add me so we can play when you have a better connection or your system aint working against you lol. but yeah another one of those matches before you joined i was playing against 2 of them by myself…sucked for me but was fun as hell lol

Well, it took a little while, but I’ve finally got all ten characters to level 20.

I will admit that the majority of the XP was gained in the campaign vs bots, but with a 1-year-old, I just can’t get solid blocks of uninterrupted playtime for MP.

So if you ever see me in the chat rooms and want to shoot out an invite, let me know if any particular class is lacking on your team, because I’ve got them all decked out. Every two-class combo and a super-specialist for each class.

also, while I def dig the crazy-town of 8v8 (tonight(thurs) was fu-un!), there seems to be more than a bit of interest of some smaller matches (ff on, anyone?), 3-5 per team, etc etc (oldskool/comp/etc)…i know i’m game.

any thoughts on the best way to organize these? the chats seem to work pretty well, but I’ve also stumbled into a couple matches by using the “join friend” option in Brink, but didnt realize FF was on until it was too late (for my teammate)…i figured it out pretty quick, fyi… :slight_smile:

They’ve definitely got the best search engine, but I find most of their other practices suspect.

Yeah, the smaller games are definitely fun, and sometimes more rewarding. Just need to make sure the players have complementary character specs. And while I can sometimes do okay without a mic, it’s definitely better to have the voice communication (especially in 2v2 and 3v3), and I usually only have the mic when I can get on late after the rugrat’s in bed.

mos def re: specs - i’m dual class all around, so I usually find a spot to slot into, but yeah. sucks when you dont have a legit operative/engi, and really sucks when you dont have a legit medic. edited to add: i’ve been in a number of 2-3v2-3 with some folks from around here, and definitely appreciate the precision and coordination as a nice counterpoint to the chaos (8v8). both are fun, just like to bounce around, i guess…

I was just fumbling to get my mic out last night when i froze-up in that 3/4v3/4 last night. (i needed to tell seacliffer sorry for finishing him off…(he had a mic and all he said was “ow”) - luckily i held off someone off while he was self reviving, but still)

I had come over from that ultra-lag match (capn-k!!!), and hadnt found a reason to go mic’d yet (i think it’s safe to say that mics in random/pub matches (not including chat organized matches here) are 50/50 as to whether it’s really useful to have mics, or if it’s icepick to the eardrum - as it was last night on that last run on resort we did (one of my teammates - your opponent) had their voice modifier set to the highest setting, and thought it was funny to bark out orders in a chipmunk voice…ahhh console… lol)

Makes me think of a round of MAG I played where I was OIC and played the whole round with the voice-mod set to chipmunk. :tongue:

I think it was Balls last night on our team with the voice mod going as Megatron. Pretty amusing.
