PS3 Network quality - how is Brink running for you?

That’s through my wireless. PS3 is hardwired to the router, so you’d have to assume the connection is better there. If there’s something I can do to improve my connection or the way my PS3 handles the game while online, I will be more than happy to give it a try. I just don’t think there’s much I can do and that I’ll have to wait for the patches.

Just guessing though. Maybe it is just me.[/QUOTE]

Just to help you a bit more, latency is relative (Between a server/client), so that is the ping to the speed test site not to all servers. Brink is P2P (on PS3 at least), but I think it’s really a roaming host design, so find someone with a good host that you have a good ping time to and the game will be smoother for you. Or set up one yourself… that will be optimal for you: Custome Game I think will accomplish this.

It’s working great, but 30 minutes later it froze on me, because sony had another maintenance issue, got back online after 15 minutes and 30 minutes later another freeze. jeez, very annoying. Other than that the game itself runs smooth for me at least.

Just got back from the pub and have had my 1st 3 online games with ‘everyone’ enabled in campaign.

****ing awesome!!! (oops, can I swear?) Didn’t have any lag that I noticed and the game played great! It can be very fast & furious at times. Don’t know if there were any AI in the games that I played (missions 2 & 3)

I’m playing soldier and got over 8500 xp in my first ever online game.

I’m hooked.

I’m also a bit pissed…

PS3 by the way. Long live PSN!!

I wonder if Fat PS3s have more trouble than slims…

I have a fat. How about you Lebowski? And people not having trouble, do you use slims?

(TheBigLebowski) #25

I have a fat.

(Brinkmeup) #26

I am fat

(RadBrad31) #27

But are you experiencing any trouble? :X

(Krunkster) #28

I have the original 60 GB Fat model as well.
Another thing that can affect latency is amount of traffic between you and your ISP. So you should see smoother gameplay if you are not doing anything else online. Even if you are only using 1MB out of your 10MB. It has to due with the packet spacing… I hope you don’t mind me not explaining TCP/IP.

Im experiencing little to no lag. It happens, I’ve hasome freezes, but overall no complaints

(RadBrad31) #30

It’s working better now, with 4-5 players in game. I wonder if something’s changed on the network side. Haven’t received the update yet, still no Big Games option.

(Brendover) #31

Try the game on the Competition play list. A lot less laggy games there.

(Zamininc) #32

It’s been pretty good. 4/5 matches are good. They all pretty much lag a little when respawning or an objective just for 2 seconds.

(Brinkmeup) #33

Didn’t have any last night. Read two posts above my fat post.

(RAAAAAAAAAAGE) #34

I playd the entire security campaign Co-op with a friend last night (against bots) and it was like playing offline. Haven’t tried against full game of humans though
