Okay. I’m totally fine with mines being mines. Those things which are on the ground and explode when you walk on then if armed. But why are they being used by Proxies like grenades? This is broken imo. Most proxies just run with a knife straight to you and toss a mine in your face which explodes midair or directly the moment it hits the ground resulting in a non-dodgeable instakill. Paired with Proxys speed this is really unfair. Mines should have 2-3 seconds activation time before they can explode so Proxies can’t throw them at you. They aren’t bombs like Fletches has them nor grenades like Nader/Fragger have them. They’re mines. Mines!

Mines do have an arm time of, yes, something like 2 seconds. If they explode before that, either Proxy or someone else shot it. It’s a perfectly legitimate strategy. It’s also hazardous. Mines can only be thrown so far, and Proxy only has 90HP. If Proxy is too close, she’ll go as well ( and lose points for suicide ).
Mines have an activation time, if you don’t shoot em… Either the proxy is suicidal and attacks her own mine, which also results in her death, or you have enough time to react.
And to be honest, after the nerf of the mines, it is the only real use for them… besides using them as a noobfilter…
I’ve learned that you can actually throw mines and shoot them to kill enemies.

Any person playing Proxy who goes into a fight to throw a mine rather than shoot dies pretty much instantly. The animation is overwhelming obvious and if you’re dying to those mines now you won’t be after you get a bit more experience and start noticing things in firefights.
Also, they have around a 2 second arm time. However, they can be thrown and shot by the Proxy but it’s not very effective in most situations.
I dont get it how some Proxys can throw mines and shoot almost instantly afterwards. It takes my primary over a second to arm after mine throw. So shooting is out of the question.
Easy answer, they WANT to throw ONE mine, but the ()=//($&()/%&()$/ bug throws a second mine while having the weapon already drawn.
Same thing, as throwing the second medpack at your enemy instead of shooting him, as a sawbonez…

Btw… In half of the cases playing a proxy and having this bug, you even shoot the second mine, you just unwillingly threw at your enemy… Guess what, you die…
I haven’t noticed anything like 2 seconds activation time. Proxies ran ar me with a knife, threw mines, instand explosions. If it really would be 2 seconds, you wouldn’t die instantly. I can dodge mines on the ground even if they’re in corners but I can’t dodge mines Proxies threw at me even if I jump away the moment I see the animation. And shooting the mine is hard with a knife equipped, eh?
You can get work done fast using your knife to detonate mines. Especially if you are close to dying or flanking on a group and want to secure their demise.

Wow. This is stupid and shouldn’t even be a thing. If yes. I want all nades being shootable and Skyhammers airstrike missiles before they hit the ground. Cause balance.
The animation is super obvious and there is a rather long arm time for them. You just aren’t quite paying enough attention since you’re probably firing during the fight and not thinking about it.

yeah and if we shoot the skyhammer grenade before it explodes it gets disabled so the airstrike wont happend that would be balanced!
Seriously how can u even compare those 2? Do you know how hard it is for proxy aginst good people to actually use the mines? They only work against people like you. Shooting the mine is the only thing they are good with atm, i mean if a player runs like 2 cm to the side of the mine it wont explode they almost need to run directly on it for it to explode. They are so nerfed and bad against good people so that point were u throw it maybe 1m infront of u and later shoot it is the only good thing you can do with the mine, and put it in a doorway to delay the enemy a second longer beacuse they need to shoot it.
