Proxy mines and "Suicides'

I’m sure I’m not the only person who would agree that if you shoot an enemy Proxy’s mine, resulting in you killing the Proxy, that you should be rewarded with a kill. Its a kind of out-play, I believe you should be rewarded for this.

Thoughts?

She wouldn’t be killed by her own mine if there wasn’t for you shooting at it…

Also when you are in fight, fight with skyhammer and deal 119 damage to him, he jumps of the bridge… You shouldn’t get kill cause it was fall damage he made himself that killed him?

And that explosive wouldn’t be there for you to shoot if she didn’t place it.

I am pretty sure there is a way to get a kill if you blow up a Proxy with her mine. I remember doing it. But I have no idea how I did it. Probably with another explosion. I have no idea how though. I might be wrong but I am pretty sure.

yeah, especially since you get kill credit if they fall off a bridge and die of falling

There’s nothing I love more than killing a Proxy with her own mine. I do it intentionally any chance I get. It should count as a kill for me. -shrug- A Proxy doesn’t trip her own mine by running over it, so… If she dies by her mine, it’s because someone shot it.

Proxy is bugged sometimes the mine explodes… also she should have a little more health… like Nader would be sufficient.

@CamBrah also ive seen in other shooters where if u spot a prox mine and shoot it, it only harms urself and the person who placed it. many times have i shot a prox mine and accidentally killing my teammates, giving that proxy a bunch of kills. i feel they should change it to that.

This should also imply to shooting Fletcher’s bombs and killing him as well. And does killing a merc by using Pineapple Juggler reward you a kill too?

I thought it already did. If i shoot a Proxy mine and she dies, I see my name on the killfeed with a mine kill icon, regardless of who I play at the time. I’ll try to screencap it the next time it happens.

That’s exactly what I meant. But it doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes there is just a selfkill from the mine in the Killfeed.

Does it differ to whether or not the mine has “armed” or not? Like if its currently armed and you blow it up, it might count as a mine kill against her, but if it isnt, its a suicide?

it seems that it only counts as a kill if you harmed proxy before you blew her up

To all of you, and @Jostabeere , I’ll tell you guys how to kill enemy Proxy with her own mine.

Killing Proxy with shooting her mine never goes for your kill, BUT exploding her mine with YOUR explosive works for your kill. That’s how it works.

ex.) exploding her mine near her with your stickies, grenade, whatever.

I did that quite a lot with my Fragger, but never made a kill with shooting her mines.

@Xavien Yes it does. Because when you grab or turn back their explosives, it is considered as YOUR explosives.

I agree you should get the kill. Happens all the time tbh.

But at the same time I kind of don’t mind it showing them as killing themselves. I kind of get more satisfaction out of that if anything haha.
