Proxy and Aura is unbalanced

I saw too many people play easy. These 2 mercenary (Proxy and Aura) are unbalanced because 1 they run too fast 470 (Normal mercenary 400) and as a result you find yourself already dead before it begins to shoot them. The second thing, is the tower of self-regeneration of aura that is the most unbalanced in the game, it is impossible to kill someone when he is in the turret.

As i said, Proxy is too much strong since beta end. she was clearly not usefull at all for frag but epic for engineering, now, she’s usefull for everything and can 1 shot anyone easily.

The problem with proxy is she can play almost any role. Besides medic, there’s no real reason to switch off from her. She already suited to almost any situation.

  • She great at defense, because of her mines.
  • She has great offensive ability, because of her speed and high damage.
  • She’s great at completing objectives, (fast plant/defuse/repairing/capping flags etc…)
  • She can do good AOE damage by throwing a mine and shooting it, using it like a grenade.

Her speed means she can plant the mines anywhere at any time, making them extremely annoying. I would replace her mines with another ability making her more offensive oriented, and give them to another slower, more defensive merc (maybe Fragger).

An interesting ability could be a cool-down movement option. For example, pressing q could give her a longer vertical jump, or maybe increase her speed? Of course, the mines could also work with tweaks, but these are just a few ideas.

What Cheddar said. Proxy will be a nr1 merc to pick in any competitive setup.

Proxy is fine and balanced. Aura is fine and balanced. Do not try to get them nerfed by complaining. They have such low health if you don’t stop moving you’re dead.

I think a good nerf for aura would be a bit of decreased speed maybe 440 an extra ability that would make her go her original speed for a short amount of time and aybe a 10 - 15 secs cooldown still having her healing station and defibrilators of course and that is what I think a good aura nerf would be

[/quote] That is there problem, with my comment I just posted could prove a good buff/nerf without her being too underpowered

Aura is pretty balanced, no comment there. Just kill the damn healy tower first.

But Proxy? I still feel as though she is OP. Incredible Damage, Speed, access to SMGs, and mines which do a load of damage, and can be shot to activate earlier. Kind of annoying.

Proxy can be a very useful and powerful merc if played by a competent player. Shes is extremely squishy though, and dies pretty much instantly if you do not keep moving (smartly, mind you). As such I don’t really know if she “deserves” a nerf, I haven’t really played at a high enough level in the competitive scene.

My experience with her is that she is one of the better “risk vs reward”-mercs out there, and appears pretty balanced.

i feel there are not nearly enough people playing engineers, its usually a horde of assault classes playing tdm.
mines can be annoying though i dont feel neither merc need a nerf.

most auras i see have no idea what theyre doing. placing hp stations in akward spots etc.

if light mercs piss you off then you should try playing as fragger, rhino, phantom, nader, fletcher… hm im starting to list everyone… just destroy the hp station and chase em down.

This thread is from March. I don’t think anyone that has played longer than a couple days think Proxy or Aura are OP anymore.

I agree that very few people play engineers though. Which is fine most of the time because I like to play Fletcher more than any other merc. However, when I need support XP…I need at least one person on my team to go engineer.

Take care of jumping with shotguns (no penalty currently) and you’ll take a lot of the fire out of each class.
