Proxxy's Waking Nightmare Chptr 2

(Despaniard) #1

<Lisa Wells. Codename: Proxxy. Combat Engineer. Sent here on accounts of “strange looking merc that one moment was there, the next was gone.” Clinically sane but experts suggest a strong case of PTSD. Interview #2>

<Miss Wells, you tell us that a ghost agent was sent to aid your team, then after the mission had proceeded successfully he had been instructed to eliminate your fellow mercenaries and then vanish from sight?>

You don’t believe me! For @#$ hell, what do you need, a video recording?! A voice sample of that bloody spook, is that it? Then you would believe me?!

<Now there is no need to assign fault. We are just here to hear your testimony of the event and make our assessment. (Subject is easily irascible. A larger dose of tranquilizers is recommended so that information can be made more accessible.)>

I don’t know what you just said but @#$ you too! I must be out of my bloody mind. I thought I had signed a contract that assured me I would be taken care of, not interrogated because some general with too many medals up his @#$ doesn’t believe me!

Listen to me. I’ll tell you from where I left off. Sawbonez and I knew he was trouble and we knew that he was shifty. Remember that whole apex-predator I said before? Well he felt it too and didn’t like one bit. He and I decided on a plan to get as many from the team to safety as possible though you can see how well that turned out. I was lucky that it worked with me.

<(Subject seems to be unaware that mercenaries codenamed: Sawbonez, Nader and Kira have been recovered and are being treated in the intensive care unit. This information could be useful later on.) Miss Wells, we appreciate your willingness to collaborate.>

Anyway, after he told us to get going we all grouped up and strategized. Vassili was going to go up near the rooftops to get the height advantage and give us live-info on the enemy team. Once he was in position, we would stealthily make our way to the back entrance of the laboratories and the spring into action. It was a good plan but we didn’t need it, not with a ghost on our side... for the time.

<What do you mean you didn’t need it?>

Once Vassili had gotten in position and we had slunk along behind the laboratory, we all got a message from the spook. “What are you waiting for, get going in.” Now I still don’t know how he did it even though we came into the safe room at the moment of him springing into action but I knew for sure that at that moment I was glad he was on our side. He was spinning, dodging bullets and jumping around and every move involving somebody being cut with his sword. And it wasn’t that they were a bunch of novices, these were guys that had kept us at bay for hours and we were some of the best mercs there were and there he was, making mince meat of them like they were a warm up. Funny, I guess they were. It was horrifyingly beautiful though. It was like a graceful dance of death. Whole walls were covered in blood and the floor was slick with gore and body parts. I even saw him propel up their engineer and lop off both her arms and legs, turn around fast as lightning and kick her full in the gut and send her through the window. Once he was done, I waited for a minute and then grabbed one of the of the virus cases and walked to the exit, passing by him on my way. He exuded cold, like his proximity stole from my body temperature. He wasn’t cleaning his sword either, just standing there with his eyes closed, breathing calm like he had just walked along a field of daisies and wanted to smell the air. I kept walking and stepped on a hand. I looked down and saw that it was just that, a hand. Not attached to anything either, just a hand that was twitching, its trigger finger curling and uncurling, jittering open and closed. I couldn’t handle it anymore. I know that what I used to do was not pretty, I’ve shot more people than I’ve ever cared to count but this was too much. Sawbonez grabbed the container I was carrying and led me along until we reached the grass clearing and I tripped on the corpse of the enemy engineer, falling flat on my face. I got up on my hands and knees and looked to my left. She even looked a little like me. I couldn’t handle it so I puked all over the dirt. Nader picked me up and carried me over her shoulder. She was silent so I knew that she had been affected by the show...

<Miss Wells? Miss Wells! (Subject seems to have been too affected by the memories brought back by the interview. We recommend a day of rest and then inform us when she is responsive again.)>

Yo all of you lovely readers. I know that you know that writing takes time and effort so if you could help me out and check out some of my songs, that’d be great.

This is amazing! Can’t wait for next chapter.

Awesome story you got there!

But Phantom’s personality is playful and ego-ist, not that cunning and psychopathic (that badge belongs to Aimee herself). Anyway, just my thought, so don’t take it too seriously

EDIT: @Herr_Hanz ? That image just give me the creeps.

Nice to hear that people read these! I’ll keep the chapters coming.

@DankBeretField I appreciate the constructive criticism! That’s why Phantom is one of my favorites and yeah, Aimee is pretty Psyco when it comes down to it but this is simply my attempt at making Phantom edgier. Hope it’s succeeding!
