[Prototype] Dome Event Weekend 2

(PlayingUndead) #41

I was really thrown off by Dome at first, and to be honest my team wasn’t sticking together at all and I was playing Medic at the time, I’d look for people I could help and it’s like ugh, I have five people dying in five opposite corners of this map somehow.

But I’ve gotten more used to it now and it is a bit of fun once you familiarize yourself with the angles.

Honestly the only feedback I came here to post is that I love these untextured maps, I think when the game’s all done there should be an untextured map just for old time’s sake. But more specifically, Dirty Bomb definitely needs blood splatters to go along with the untextured maps because we all know it would look amazing on them.

I can say that i like it, its big and has multiple ways to get to the objectives and places that are hard to camp since there are so many ways to get behind.

Imo, still way to big, evenfor a 8vs8. Can’t say much more, not playing competetive and thus not having had a single map where at least all of my team knew the map.

[center]Oh darling!
Loved the DOME.
Has to be like my most favourite terrain/map/whatever you call it
I know this isn’t a structured review but i simply loved it darling!

Maybe if you do decide to do another event? Add a little bit of bling darling
Don’t hit me with the plague now

I really enjoyed my time on Dome.

Even though the map feels very large, after awhile it becomes clear where the main ‘lanes’ are and the action increases.

The number of alternate pathways and the amount of verticality in the map design adds a real tense urban combat feel, where you aren’t ever completely sure where the enemy might come from and flanks can be extremely effective for both attackers and defenders.

The number of secondary objectives is fantastic, I didn’t get to play enough to actually use and experiment with most of them. I like the potential to use them as distractions, the way they’re spread out.

As mentioned above though, I do wonder about the narrative. What is the point of the datacores? Are all objectives supposed to lead to destroying the AA gun, or are they just three separate objectives that just happen to exist in the same area? I really love how the objective chains in other maps make sense and add to the immersion, and I feel a little bit like there isn’t that same feel of narrative progression in Dome.

This map is great. Really love it. There are certain ways to get behind enemy back and just nuke them with airstrikes

There are also ways to get slaughtered if you are not really paranoid. Just careful isnt enough.

So basically, this map is all around dangerously made and can get real intense.
