[Prototype] Dome Event Weekend 2

(triteTongs) #21

Played this map in competitive mode a week ago. First time ever playing it, so it was our first time ever attacking/defending in it.

Really confusing at first, but the map totally made sense after playing. First objective is REALLY hard, but we managed to figure out how to push through them.

It seemed like once you got past the first objective, everything got really easy. I’ll have to try this new version now

Hey! Great work on the map so far! Just wanted to post a quick video. I was streaming the other night, and had someone get on top of the large buildings near the first objective. As we switched sides to defend, I had a hard time locating where this player got all the way on top of the building. If this is legitamate, great, I’d love to know how to get up there. If not, please take a look in my video.

Thanks again!

Not sure, haven’t had a chance to play dome yet personally(and I haven’t explored it much solo), but it might be related to the infinite jump height bug… Devs are aware of it and working on a fix hopefully. Then again it might be perfectly legitimate. I will have to tool around on the map a bit. Can anybody else provide some insight?

He most likely jumped this corner somehow:

Could have been enemy sticky mine, could have been crouch jump bug abuse. Can’t really tell. Does not look like SD intended people to get up there.

Great map, but needs some work here and there. I got knifed through a wall. I suppose some parts of me were sticking out through the wall.

Also without texture it’s quite confusing the first time.

Great map but I feel like it’s a bit large for 8v8. Also, not sure if this happens on other map but if a c4 is already planted in the Storage room door, there’s still a visual tool tip that says press F to plat c4.

Anybody know the console command to get into Dome offline? I’d love to go in and practice my jumps there.

switchlevel obj_map_6

I actually hope it doesn’t look too much like that. Don’t get me wrong it looks really cool from an artistic perspective but from a gameplay perspective, that kind of lighting, those colors, and that amount of world objects and foliage would really lower the readability of the map.

@derpypenguinz19 Last I checked the command was: switchlevel obj_map_6

I loved the map, and unlike all the other maps which feel linear and straightforward everytime you play, Dome had flow, multiple routes, and best of all, actual use for wall jumping! Thanks SD

Dome in its current state runs very, very well on my system. (mobile i5) Very consistent. I don’t know whether or not that’s due to the lack of memory usage for textures, but it sure as hell helps make the map more enjoyable. Please keep it this way. (no I dont mean un-textured)

Enjoyed playing this map today, furthermore im enjoying the whole game

(Aazhyd) #38

switchlevel OBJ_Map_6

[left][list]Only had some time on 6v6 but here is what I think so far:

Pros:
-Easy to navigate
-Many Natural focal points for action
-Many secondary objectives (excellent!)

Cons
-Quite a few sniper corridors. That being said, I don’t mind, find another way around!
-On 6v6 it’s a little large. It seems as though there were large stretches of time where no one sees anyone else. This may just be down to map knowledge (or lack of).

Narrative question:
Why am I loading data cores into a big tower thingo?

Looking forward to giving it a go

I’ve been saying we need more maps, so this is a welcome development.
