Progress for arming and defusing

I would like to see arming and defusing progress for the C4. So if one of your mates arms or defuses 30%, another one has just to do the missing 70%.

Here is the reason why no arming and defusing progress is really annoying:

Yesterday we were playing Waterloo and Anti tried to arm two times, but always got shot before finishing it.

In my opinion it accommodates beginners as someone else can help you to get the job done.(Ain’t I noob friendly this time? :D) It also encourages teamwork more, as your team gets rewarded if more players help. And furthermore it would be finally allowed to die during the arming/defusing as you could come back a second time and get it done. Playing retakes or attacks will become easier as you might sometimes get a second chance.

This could also lead to very epic moments, as such as the 4 or 5 man defuse on Braundorf in the last second. When all spawned as engi and made it together!

multiple players should be able to arm/disarm dyno. and ya if 1st engy is shot and killed planting, 2nd engy should be able to run in and finish it.

Yeah, that annoys me too. Pls let every engi finish a started plant/disarm/build :slight_smile:

I thought defuse is already quicker if multiple people are defusing. But yes, arming and defusing should be able to be done by multiple engys.

Yeah, its faster already but when you start defusing/arming and you get killed, the progress is all gone.

Dropable c4 anywhere that you arm with pliers plz! Press F to arm is a major step backwards imo.

Yeah i am all for the arming and defusing progress bars, while you are at it, please add in progress bars towards spawn capture points, really vague/have no idea how long it takes to cap spawns… just waiting around till a message pops up saying you have it.

Unless SD intended to have Anti manually give all servers progress updates on arming and diffuseing through chat 24/7.

Yes i am well aware of that, however i refuse to look in the sky while standing trying to capture a point in the enemies territory… how am i meant to defend myself while capturing if i don’t know the exact time it takes, and i can’t anticipate oncoming people trying to kill me + anyone who does engage will more than likely have a free kill as i will be looking in the sky at the progress. Just seems extremely impractical, and an unnecessary added risk for a simple aspect of the game which just requires a little communication over the status of it on the HUD.

Team progress arming/defusing was a good thing, it’s still very much true today in a team based game.

Disarming progress should really be saved, a 90% defuse shouldn’t become worthless when you get killed.

What do you think about how defuse status should be displayed and to whom it is shown?
Either we show progress in numbers(%) when looking on the bomb or display on HUD or we use colors (maybe in combination with defusal percentage in numbers)

maybe a dynamite armed on an objective should emit a rather bright light from green ( 0-25 % disarmed) to yellow ( 25-60 % disarmed) to red (60-90% disarmed) to red blinking ( 90-99.99999% disarmed)

This gives you the status of the bomb as defender as well as attacker from quite far distances.

I like the way ETQW handle explosives. There was a status of time to detonation/disarming shown on your hud as a progress bar for major objectives. Arming was always shown as a increasing circle around your crosshair, and most important I could drop my charge on the Nexus tower and have someone else finish the arming, that was a tough plant always and arming was mostly a team effort. same goes with disarming it’s progress was always preserved if you died while disarming. I think it would increase the number of plants and disarms greatly if it was handled like ETQW. The finish on Waterloo would be more balanced, The attackers almost always win if they make it to the final objective. +1 on dropping c4 everywere
