Problem with shaders from common/ - not found

Hi there

I have a problem with my common shaders, and have scoured the net for an answer, but can find nothing.

It happened some time recently, I think it may have been due to something stupid I did with Easygen (which I am still pretty new to), but I’m not sure.

Now, when I compile my map and go in-game, some of the common shaders appear to be not found by the engine, as they show up as the dreaded black and yellow grid pattern.

In particular:

  • common/caulk (I know you should not be able to see caulk in release, but at the moment there are still places where you should be able to see it, at the edges of the map)
  • nodraw (shouldn’t be able to see ANYTHING, let alone black and yellow grid)
  • ladder

…these are the ones I have noticed so far.

** What has gone wrong?? **

Help please!?

-Make sure nothing is overwriting the common.shader (similarly named files/shader names).
-Remove any mods, they may be causing overwriting issues
-Make sure common is included in your shaderlist.txt

I had already checked common.shader, and it looked correct and had a great load of shaders in it… so I left it at that. After your comment I reinstalled a fresh copy of ET into a temp folder and compared the factory version of common.shader to the one I have, and they were very different!

Can Easygen overwrite common.shader??
