Problem with misc_beam

(Mean Mr. Mustard) #1

I’m getting a ‘curious’ result with my misc_beam entities. I have two, and both act similar so I’ll only explain one.

I have a ‘sled’ on a conveyor belt that is winched forward at certain points in the game (as a V-2 rocket is being assembled). The misc_beam has a target that is a script_mover and a message that is a script_mover. The animation looks correct (ie. the beam is where is is supposed to be and ‘shortens’ as it is winched. I move the ‘sled’ along a path defined by 4 corner points. The first 3 are equidistant apart.

When the sled is being pulled to the 4th and final point, it appears that the misc_beam is leaving a ‘clip brush’ behind. I can jump on the misc_beam/cable and run along. It also blocks my path if I try to move laterally. But yet, the appearance of the beam is fine (ie. goes form the origin of the target to the origin of the message)

Any one have any ideas on what I have done incorrectly? :banghead:
