Problem with mirrors and entities (JK2)

Ok, perhaps you can help me-
When compiling my map with Q3Map2 (2.3.38) I’m getting some flickering on my mirroring floors- sometimes it seems as if the mirror displays the same as a caulk-texture would do (entities behind the mirror are displayed and the skybox).

At the same time some of my doors (and a func_rotating) disappeared, although it seems as if the clipping of the rotating brush still is present. What really is strange about that is that not all of my doors or the doors I added last are gone.

And finally only about 1/3 of the shots fired are drawn- especially noticably on rapid-fire weapons. Even when throwing the lightsaber- it seems as if it becomes stuck right after leaving the hand. It just floates in the air, without any motions.

Anyone having the same problems?

No, more like skinning a wall with a skybox and then building a room behind that- all faces with the expection of the wall you are looking through are drawn normally.

Ok, got rid of the mirror bug with an areaportal, but still I’m having a problem with the shots being drawn- Whenever I enter the midlevel-section of my map only two shots are drawn. No impacts, nothing.
So the third problem still hasn’t improved.

Does JK2 even support mirrored surfaces?

Absolutly, ydnar. The Cargo Bay dueling map that comes with 1.03 and higher patches has a reflective floor.

Yeah, I’m just uploading a little trailer that shows some of my problems (just watch closely when I enter the room with the mirroring floor- you can see several errors, but I think that is because the second area-portal isn’t working yet).

Any suggestions about those disappearing shots? They only seem to appear on the same height-level as the floor is…

Ok, last time I bother you:

Does anyone know anything about this problem of fired shots not being drawn? Even if you only heard of it on some board, please tell me, so I can go look through that board…

You might have simply hit the entity or shader limits. Have you tried sectioning out the part of the map giving you trouble, compiling it alone and seeing if it exhibits the same behavior?

No, but it appeared only recently- so that sounds very much like being the problem. I’ll see if I can fix it now that one of the area-portals seperating the area is working. Otherwise I’ll cut down the entities.
