Problem with master servers now?

After many years of inactivity I decided to spin up my old ETQW server to host some private games for my old clan. However I just get the dreaded “dedicated server is not authenticated” and cannot get this working.
Someone know if it is a problem theses days?

Might be useful to others if you say what the fix was.

Or was it just to wait a while for it to magically start working by itself.
