Problem: Requested feature was omitted at compile time

(eiM) #1

hello guys,

after having made just a few changes @some brushes I compiled my map with standard

Q3Map2: (final) BSP -meta , -vis , -light -fast -filter -samples 2 -bounce 8

the last time I played my map as an alpha on my server I had no problems … just some bugs I fixxed now. But when i want to start my map in pk3 now @ a host game my W:ET shuts down and gives me the following:

So what did i do wrong? Anybody already had this problem? Any suggestions? :slight_smile:

eiM

Edit: in /devmap mode the map runs without problems… so there is maybe something wrong with my pk3? but i did not change much in there from my last version

Hmm, I really don’t know, but try this:

and…

Make sure you are not using any progressively encoded jpeg in your custom shaders. They are not supported by Quake3. (This error message is typical of the jpeg library). Q3Radiant won’t let you load a progressive jpeg, but you can still reference them in shaders, hence the problem.
This can happen when you try to run a map bundled in a pk3 … check your levelshot then, make sure it’s not a progressive jpeg either.

Hope you’ll find the answer out :wink:

oh well i love you :stuck_out_tongue:
anyway i don’t completely understand what the text wants to say me but i did understand the word “jpeg” :stuck_out_tongue: and well one of the things i have changed for my newer version was one textur… a .jpg that I resized and without this jpeg in my pk3 everything is working fine :slight_smile: I think I’ll get this managed now :slight_smile:

(my other problem is that i can’t plant landmines on my terrain^^) have to solve that one too :confused:

edit: ok everything working :slight_smile: also my landmines^^

Giving you an example from SupplyDepot2:

textures/ginc/grass1_mines
{
	qer_editorimage textures/temperate_sd/grass_dense1
	implicitMap textures/temperate_sd/grass_dense1
	surfaceparm landmine
}

So all is about surfaceparm landmine in your grass shader.
