Just to clear the translation : Server 109.239.154.75:13100 is having an issue with player’s health : all players spawn with 5% health left, no more

(Mustang) #3

Did you try a reinstall yet?

(Dragon.Tribal) #4

yes but like her does not change

(neg) #5

paste your server.cfg and any other custom .cfg you are running on the server?

(Smooth) #6

This is ldue to the player health now being stored in netvars, if it can’t find the netvar data it reverts to default (5hp) for all players.

I believe your server may have the latest .exe, but not the latest media file which is required.

Can you tell me the size of pak000.sdpk2 in your brink dedicated server\base folder? It should be 475 MB (498,268,578 bytes) when you look at the properties.

If that’s correct then it may be a networking issue, with the netvar data from the server not reaching the clients. I’d have to ask someone on Monday how to fix it.

Hello everyone,

As a fellow clan member, Dragon.Tribal asked me if I could help discussing the issue(s) we are having on this board.

He told me that our slots provider, Nitroserv.fr, proceeded to a complete re-install of the dedicated server files : deletion of the folder where it was installed, then re-downloading + re-installation via Steam (1.7 GB worth of content it seems).

Concerning the size of pak000.sdpk2, it seems it had the right size, yet the issue was still there.

It seems Nicolas from Nitroserv.fr tried to contact Dragon.Tribal this morning, maybe he had more insight into this problem…

On a side-note, I’d like to give you some feedback on things happening here in france :
While we mainly rented machines from Nitroserv, we also tried a company called Mondialservers.com (based in france too).
It happens that after the update a few days ago, Mondialservers had the same issue Flubber from the CanardPC boards mentioned here : http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28891
The servers were not showing up in the client’s browser, and were not reachable either by direct IP connecting.
Mondialservers’s servers did not manage to be reachable again though, and we still can’t enjoy them yet.

Please let us know if you need any more informations : server’s IPs, contents of the .cfg that are used…

Regards

The new server files would be no more then 498MB in size, about 1/3 of the 1.7 GB you mentioned.

You’re server provider is false

(mongolosaure) #9

Hey Crytiqal,

You are absolutely right, and Doggerip confirms that at mondialservers the server files weigh 498MB.

As for nitroserv, Dragon.Tribal told me that apparently they proceeded to a complete re-download of the files on saturday evening. At this time Steam indicated 1.7GB, so we are coming to the conclusion that nitroserv may have encountered a nasty Steam bug.

So we are quite in despair : a stable installation at mondialservers that doesn’t find its way out of their network, and a corrupted installation at nitroserv which can be joined… at 5 hit points.

P.S : sorry for the awful thread title, Dragon’s english skills are terrible and he can’t find how to change the title

(Kalbuth) #10

Well, that’s a living standard issue… to a certain extent
Quite a funny way to present things

(mongolosaure) #11

Hey guys,

It seems Nitroserv resolved the issue (it took them almost a week).
We don’t know the technical details, but now our servers are back online and are rid of the problem.
Again it wasn’t Splash Damage’s programming’s fault !

Two resellers, two major issues… I guess you’re right Kalbuth (XD
I might add… it’s the “French Way”

Glad to hear everything is resolved now
