Problem loading test map.

(MytMowse) #1

I wanted to test a small lil room map I created for wolf:et using the newly released map designer gtkradient. And I was wondering if anyone has had any problems?

First time it couldn’t find the map, second time it tells me it’s not part of a proper campaign run or something and to change it to gametype 2 to run the map.

I have no idea what gametype 2 means.

The help is all for quake 3 so I have no idea what to do. Thx in advance.

To load a map outside of a .pk3 file, you have to use “/sv_pure 0”.
To load a map outside of a campaign, you have to use “/g_gametype 2”

To load my test maps, I enter the following into the console (or with a script):

/g_gametype 2
/sv_pure 0
/developer 1
/devmap mapname

/g_gametype 2

gametype 2 is objective (single map) mode
gametype 3 is stopwatch.
gametype 4 is campaign.

Thanks that made it work, but still some problems.

Ok, once the map loads, it’s dark. I did put a light entity in the map, I did compile it with the lighting, and when I hit L to select a class the game freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+del

There is also a info_player_start and info_Player_deathmatch

Am I missing something?

Thx again.

You have to add mapcoordsmin and mapcoordsmax into worldspawn before it will work without freezing… in the documentation about command maps.

Ok thx, I just found that it did have a guide for ET, i’ll see if I can find those mapcoordsmin and max somewhere in the editor.

I have managed to add these manually into the .map file.

Is it possible to add extra key values to entities through Radiant??
I couldn’t seem to suss it and the manual wasn’t helpful…
…it did mention it may be possible to edit a .def file somewhere to configure additional default entity keys…

Hitting N will bring up the entities menu…

Cheers duke you’re a star. I can’t for the life of me find that on the menu - and that dialog does match up with the documentation… …but on a need to know basis hitting N is fine with me
