Prime time UK and ...

… 2 people on UK SW 01 at the moment.

Not enough Alpha players IMO, even when it’s busy it’s 1 full server and the rest empty, at the moment there’s not enough to get even 1 game going, how do you play-test a game without playing it?

New round of extra keys for friends ?

(Breo) #3

Good idea y not

By 9pm server was 7-v-7, getting there, still sad that we can only fill 1 server tho, the number of posts in these forums you’d have thought there were 100’s in the Alpha.

That is because most of us have active lives. With my studies for examples I can only play the week-end. And mid-week it is pretty normal that there are less peoples at these times. I believe we are enough for the closed alpha. The gameplay is investigated while servers are full and for general feedback, a smaller community remains the best imo, at least at first

It’s downright impossible for me to play at the busy sessions. I was hoping the weekends were more crowded but even there it takes a long time to fill up a server, I’ve been waiting in UK objective for hours last sunday.

Can I also just stay that stopwatch really isn’t the best way for testing the game? Especially now Camden is in the cycle it really is better to cycle through the maps faster so they get played evenly. It also really helps with testing how achievable each map in it’s given length.

Yeah I agree - although alot of international football going on tonight which may explain why there was less people online.

Bring on the beta, then I might suddenly become an above average player - at least for a few weeks!

(Kendle) #8

Agreed.

Ah yes, that could explain it.

When I got in, there were games starting as soon as 4/5pm gmt (still only one server but still) till late night.
The weekend I could connect at noon there would be people on the server.

For a couple of weeks now you can barely get more than 4/5 people at 7/8pm and then you have to start praying that some more will join and stay long enough for a couple of games.
It’s routine now to be so few and just do endless warmups till someone gets bored, leaves and anihilates the group effort.

What has happened?
It seems a lot of new joiners don’t bother staying for long and some old-timers don’t enjoy the game anymore apparently.

In my opinion there should be some sort of official mail activity to kick the players back into the mood and “forcefully” involve them more (weekly mailing list with the MS videos/polls/impressions and why not promoting play sessions such as the US nights ones or create new ones for the EU/ AUS, kindly asking for the players participation). If we only count on the forums it won’t budge much.

We have already many alpha testers, but the actual problem is that the majority doesn’t play.

I wouldn’t say no, but I’ve also seen so many wasted keys for friends who didn’t even install the game. :frowning:

(Mustang) #11

Most people I know that don’t play is due to performance issues.

Server was full for a couple of hours tonight, plenty of fun times.

However bring on Easter weekend people!

Maybe if we can get the basics sorted in the next month or so, they will let the Elite pack buyers in. Makes the most sense to give access to the people that paid before inviting our friends for free.

(RasteRayzeR) #13

Agreed

And we need more players and people on the forum, I’m beginning to feel that …

(Violator) #14

I was out last night so unable to play, I’ll admit not playing as much as when the alpha started, and weekdays are more tricky generally. Bank holiday weekend coming up though :). Its usually the US players complaining on numbers but Euros seem to be in the actual minority when playing.

(MrFunkyFunk) #15

Recently when we manage to fill the EU sv in the evenings it’s often thanks to american players that make 30%+ of the players on the server.

(Violator) #16

What I’ve found is the US players disappear when they have enough for their server (usually around 9-10pm GMT) then we are left with 2-4 EU players and it fizzles out :(.

Another reason might be that since it’s empty, people are not joining…

Might enhance the situation if simple chat was added to the launcher friend list and we add each others.

New build - suddenly the server is full!

Yes the chat has been suggested a few times.
An online players count (like previous launcher) with a global chat room (showing who’s online, idling and who’s playing). Just a first draft of something basic, to help the testers community coordinate quickly (more easily than on the forum).
