What is this BS about it not being ok to charge money for stuff? Since when are you supposed to give stuff to strangers that you could sell instead? People are free to give stuff away and deserve respect for their generosity, but don’t hate on people who only want to sell.
If you want a code, make a real offer for it, instead of begging.
The reason why I criticise it is because he got the codes from work (out of a bin he claims). The codes were not created by SD for people to ebay away.
I’m fine (I suppose) with someone selling the pre-order code they got when they pre-ordered because they’ve (effectively) paid for it. I’m less fine with people getting batches of codes that are meant to be handed out to customers and then charging others for them.
When I was working in retail (thankfully a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away) if a rep came in and gave us promotional stuff to give away to customers with some deal or somesuch we would have been shot if we’d tried to sell them for profit. It’s just dodgy.
Now if it was something else that wasn’t meant to be a promotional item then fine: do as you will. I just don’t think free promo items should be sold. And since they were given to his work as free promo items and that’s where he got them from I posit that they should still be free promo items.
That’s all I’m trying to say, and as I said: they’re his property now and he can do what he wants with them. Doesn’t stop me from suggesting he be nice about it.
In fact by making the suggestion I’m probably removing myself from the pool of people he might have given a code to.
/shrug. They’re nice costumes but they don’t actually do anything.
