PreOrder Content for ALL?!?

SD

Is there a plan to make the preorder items available to everyone?

(iezza) #2

If they aint said it it aint happenin’

(Kurushi) #3

This would kind of go back on the whole pre-order bonus thing

(FireWorks) #4

They should make a copy of the greeneye scope, but why the hell release everything?

(domino29) #5

I hate it when developers release pre-order content as DLC, it goes against the idea of pre-ordering it at all.

(wolfnemesis75) #6

Fear the Greeneye Scope.

(Codine) #7

Yeah if they release all the preorder dlc it will upset a lot of dedicated Brink players. Theres a reason why they were pre order bonuses…

(wolfnemesis75) #8

Preorder content should not be given to all. Its exclusive.

(AmishWarMachine) #9

but if the pre-order was available to all at a cost, is that really so bad? Not only was the pre-order bonus free, but it was months in advance.

Obviously, if they make the pre-order bonuses available to all, and make it ridiculously cheap, that wouldn’t be right… but if it’s a sensible enough price… why not?

You probably can still find a Pre-order marked Brink box at Walmart. As long as it has the pink label saying don’t sell before May 10, it will have the code. Happy hunting.

All pre-order DLC was free here in the United States, it sucks that it apparently wasn’t elsewhere.

Your argument still doesn’t invalidate the option of people purchasing DLC after-the-fact, if the cost is properly weighted. You’ll still have gotten the DLC far before them. It’s still advantage > pre-order.

If we’re on an argument of ‘fair and equitable’… I especially approve of this (pre-order DLC becoming purchasable by all) considering that not all pre-order DLC was created equal. The Green-Eye scope is roundly considered the best DLC item in the game… so I’m penalized by where I bought it from, not when I bought it (which is the crux of all argument of those against the pre-order becoming available to all).

That would make it F2p making you pay for an in game advantage, that my friend, is even worse.

I’m confused.

  1. Pre order bonus, to me, means you get said items before anyone else. You don’t have to buy them or earn them in-game. A similar point is the pre-order bonuses for Crysis 2. Those were just attachments made avail. immediately, where everyone else had to earn them in-game.

  2. It seems the exclusivity that comes with preorder bonus items is solely up to the developer/publishers.

  3. Plus, BRINK could use even more additional content. Releasing the Pre-O bonus content could help with that.

So I think my original Q is a valid one.

(iezza) #16

what im saying is, if you charge people for greeneye (Which gives an advantage) it would be one step closer to being a so called “free to play, pay to enjoy” game.

(AmishWarMachine) #17

What my point is, you admitted that you had to pay an additional fee for the green eye scope (via Spec Ops DLC), which gives an advantage (don’t think anyone would argue this with any effect).

So, for you, it already is a “F2P-P2E” game.

So… if it’s good for the goose, it’s good for the gander.

(iezza) #18

but i did not NEED to pay extra, its just GAME being greedy gits. so people that havent payed extra have the greeneye aswell. so your statment is OBLITERATED!

Derp.

Guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this particular issue.
