Pre-order bonuses in the UK.

Okay, here is the deal. I want to pre-order Brink. I don’t live in any of the places, but luckily a lot of UK shops ship all around Europe.

If I am going to pre-order I might as well take the pre-order bonus. So now I want to make a decision.

First off I preferred the Psycho so I’m thinking Amazon.co.uk. Well, the problem is that the site itself never mentions any pre-order bonus…

So yeah…

Then I went to check game.co.uk just incase. Turns out… they have some sort of a “Special Edition” of Brink. And it costs more.

But then again… it includes 2 packs. I don’t like them that much, but 2 > 1 (duh) so it seems like it is the better choice…

All in all… just announce that the items will be available later so people don’t have to worry. People who pre-order just get to use their items for months before others and they don’t have to pay for their own pack. I mean nobody wants Brink to be the worst offender on this list: http://mustkunstn1k.deviantart.com/#/d3aw6v0

Still… what is up with Amazon.co.uk / Special Edition that costs more / 2 pre-order packs from one shop…

Seems weird they’re charging £5 more for an extra pre-order bonus o_O

wow, that sucks. if it were any other game i’d say they can take it and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine

so basically there will be no way to get the “everything” edition. charging an additional 16% of the retail price for that stupid dlc, which vanishes anyway when you compare it to what comes out of the box, is rather screwing loyal fans than marketing.

for a so-called “special edition” it doesn’t even include all packs. i was so looking forward to a special edition, but this one is very sad :frowning: i’m getting the standard package

Indeed.

Now I don’t know what to do… Would the 5£ bucks be worth it… Because let’s imagine that they don’t make these available later. What if Enemy Territory would’ve had these kind of things and after 10 years I would be the only one to have specific items. Although Psycho looks cooler to me… the mask, gun and silencer all look awesome and more unique. Even tho Amazon doesn’t mention it.

Its called marketing

Why make a fuss about £5 anyway o.O? If you can afford a spec to play Brink, I dont think you are short of £5

I’m pretty sure you’ve guessed by now that it’s the principle more than the money. It’s thinking like that, that gives companies the impression that it’s ok to pull **** like that.

Yes indeed, I was being mmmm lets say I was putting my feet into marketing man’s one. As said in the Aussie thread, if people continue to buy these things I dont see any reasons company would reconsider their offers and stop being that greedy.

Peace

I’m personally not that bothered by 5£. I mean I guess I kind of am because the things were supposed to be a pre-order bonus. I mean if they would make a edition like this why not just include all the bonuses and make every store carry it.

Atm I’m just thinking which store to pre-order from. Aka is the 5£ really worth it, specially if the things aren’t as cool as the things in Psycho.

And why doesn’t amazon still show that it has pre-order bonuses too… I can’t start complaining after I get the game because they never promised any (incase there are no items).
