Okay, I fubar’d the last poll so this one has more options.
If you were/are happy with Brink or not take a look at the poll and please vote again.

Lol i had to google fubar…anyways i think you “fubar’d” again cause i don’t see the poll
poll is created after topic is posted.
Regarding the 0/1 poll options of unhappy or happy, I wouldn’t say I didn’t enjoy Brink for some time, excluding technical/launch problems, so much as I’m unhappy that it’s SD that made it and not some company that’s less well versed in the genre.
Expanding on poll choices, I only played W:ET and RTCW briefly but I’ve also played a number of class based obj/ctf games and hl or source mods including TF2, TFC, a bunch of TF derivatives, Dystopia, Global Agenda and Monday Night Combat.
I was double checking it and it seems it had already posted the thread. Okay now to see if I can get badman to delete the original and really confuse people.
I honestly can’t see by RtCW. For me that was the perfect class based MP game… and that’s DEFINITELY surpassing TF/TF2 in every way. Classes in the Team Fortress games were on a whim at best, and had absolutely no influence on the objective at the time. RtCW took true class based objective gaming and brought the importance of the choice to the forefront of the objective at hand. Missions were contextual and the classes had a role to play to win the game… you had a job to do and that job was important. I didn’t have to worry about unlocks, what clothes I was dressed in or what attachments I had equipped at the time. My objective was my goal and that was enough… it was more than enough… and it drove me to hundreds of hours of game play without shiny objects to prove I was having fun.
I have to say RTCW also got me into this genre and probably pulled me away from Q3. I think it was only a waning community that made me go back to Q3 (by that I mean in Q3 I could get games at any time of the night). I too would love to see a CS:GO type treatment of RTCW and W:ET in a new game. My first impression of W:ET compared to RTCW was OMFG what is all this popping up here, and ranking there and that over there. It doesn’t seem SD has found a way round that yet.
I would say a good 20% of ETQW is based on social teamplay - health packs, revives, ammo, repairing friendly vehicles and deployables, tac-shields.
Now all that stuff is awesome, but its awesome because it makes up 20% of the game. If you weren’t that great at smashing the enemy, that 20% of social play, was there for you to add your 2 cents.
But making a game entirely around that concept and ignoring combat is not going to create fans, other than those who only ever offered their 2 cents.
Anyways thats one of my reasons for being unhappy!
To read this poll, you can say:
minimum: 10 people are unhappy with BRINK (77%) and 3 people are happy with BRINK (23%)
maximum: 23 people are unhappy with BRINK (82%) and 5 people are happy with BRINK (18%)
To read this poll, you can say:
minimum: 10 people are unhappy with BRINK and 3 people are happy with BRINK
maximum: 23 people are unhappy with BRINK and 5 people are happy with BRINK
Let’s put that into cheerleader terms though, much easier to comprehend:
To read this poll, you can say:
minimum: 10 people are trolls with BRINK and 3 people are the ones who ‘get’ the perfection with BRINK
maximum: 23 people are trolls with BRINK and 5 people are the ones who ‘get’ the perfection with BRINK
P.S. For the more sensitive, it’s a joke!
OK, I voted right this time. Like Brink, played all titles listed, others include America’s Army, which I played a bunch, and I’ve dabbled with demos of some of the WW2 based ones.

I think it’s probably based on a single vote but as this allows multi votes it screws up the percentages. Once I’ve had a bit of lunch I’ll summarise where were are right now based on unique users.

Ok voted. Discarded the “similar games” option because even though I played BF2 and BFBC2, among other online FPS, they aren’t really like Brink or ET games. I used to play BFBC2 and ETQW at the same time.
Also, I voted both happy and unhappy, because I enjoy the game although in many occasions I feel frustrated by some design choices (char customization / body types, auto-lock interactions, no vsays). Still, some games can be freaking awesome.
I see some voted more than once.
The option is gone after I viewed results?, oh well…
