Powerball: a request for voice over help

Hi all, you might have heard that I’m working on this mod for ET called Powerball. Everything are going along fine, new maps in the works, new hud additions, new menu designs etc. The mod is starting to feel polished now, most bugs are squished, things added etc. But there’s one major thing I just can’t solve, and that’s new voice overs. If you could help with this or know anyone that would be interested to help out with it I would be eternally greatfull. It’s that last pice of thing that just do so much for a mod that I can’t do.

It’s all about that ball, pick it up throw it to a team mate, take it to the enemy base and score it in thier goal.

Any help apreciated.

Still looking for help. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to come up with another solution for this.

What kind of voice overs do you want? Do you have a list of sayings?

Well I got so deperate that I actually made them myself.

Well good or bad I don’t know, they could have been worse I guess though.

/me thinks a cvar to disable them is a must now lol. :eek:

Bah I think I’ll remove them again lol. They dont work with me speaking.

The ones I would like help with if anyone could do it would be:

Axis have taken the ball
Axis got the ball
Axis intercepted the ball
Axis scored
Axis made a touchdown

And the same for allies, no need to make them work as in game, just the speaking would be fun since I can make the final touches myself. Also any suggestions on alternative voices would be nice and more of the same in different recordings.

I was thinking of the Q3 mod QPong Arena by team reaction. They had great sounds including stadium cheering and snide comments when you accidentally scored on your own goal. I think their site is down though.

by the way, will you be able to accidentally score on your own goal? Like a missed pass or being bounced in by a panzer?

Hmm, self goals… nice idea, might do that. Ball is not affected by shots against it and will probably not be either, even though it would be logica that it did, it would change the game play too much imo. People shooting the ball forward instead of carrying it.

Another one I would like to see in there is the “HOLY SHIT!” you got when getting fragged just an inch from capping the enemy flag in Q3. :slight_smile:

Yeah. In QPong, you moved the ball by using your weapons - kind of like combat earth ball. The ball was big enough to squish people and they had various properties - metal, spiky, squishy, etc. Very cool mod that was made even better with the sounds.

There are two links, maybe you could get in touch wiht the sound guys for the mod and see if they can do anything for you or let you use some of the voice files
