POW Model

Ill be releasing a MD3 animated model of a POW for use as an escortable objective once my map is out. I will even supply a tutorial on how to work with the model if possible.

For now, ill show you all an image.

The hands and the flatness are probably due to the angle of the image, you can see from the next shot that hes not flat.

Thanks for the comments, Ive got two more images to show.

The Grease Gun, which ill release has a MD3 model and 3ds so that it can be both used in a custom map and for a Mod.

His face looks flat, maybe add a few more vertexes for the nose and eye sockets?

His face is flat, thats because I never added any detail to it.

Set a timelimit, 5 mins, dot them arround a map, like hiding, and its a race to kill them evil allies stop axis killing them

man…so smart…

I can make it better, instead of going around killing them, you have an elite team of ninjas, replace cvops, (since when were cvops as awesome as ninjas?).

i can see how you would make a POW model that could run on a set path and die and be revived by a medic (sorta) but i can figure out how you can make him use a gun hope you relases a beta of even a box map with this POW in so we cna all see and maby help you improve and tweek it

Iam not sure he will have a gun, he would only be able to shoot forwards. But yeah, he will follow a path.

i have though about making a map with this kinda objective but not realy got the time to map at the moment and this requires so much testing etc just to see if its posible etc that i haven realy done anyhting for it

i did thenk that perhaps some reasons why a POW could not use a gun

  • handcufs
  • carrying some kind of objective
  • carring a heavy weapon that would not be used agasint troops e.g. a rocket launcher that he uses to blow up walls as objectives allowing access
  • week and injured unable to more without limping, you could animate as if he was holding a wound or something leaving no room for a weapon

to try and make the face look a bit better maby you could steal one from the head.md3 then it might look more in place with the current characters

all my ideas for generating these models was from taking a rtcw model and ET head aniamting with the needed animations then exporting as a .md3 with a new skin to make it quite clear that its the POW and not another player

just another thing, when thinking about non weapon roles i though a scientist NPC and there are enough etc models skins to do this easily dont need an excuse for a weapon then

Medic couldn’t revive him like a player, would need to be a trigger_only.

And the POW can have the gun and fire, but there will not be any bullets.

The gun looks pretty good but that body needs more work.

Its a free model, Iam not spending all my free time to make people happy, what you see, is what you will get; take it or leave it when its out for download.
