Me and my friend both had execution missions to do so we joined an empty server, we decided to do knife only. A few other people joined and we told them it was knife only and they all joined in until the server was full of people going knife only! 1-2 hours later everyone was still enjoying it! So many people putting in chat that they only came to do misssions and stay as it was so fun! I’m nit saying this gamemode should replace execution but I’m sure NO ONE would miss it… (Please reply with any suggestions or problems if this were a thing!)

For the love of god someone give these poor bastards a knives only server.
The last 2-3 days I have joined probably 10-12 servers where people are yelling “KNIVES ONLY KNIVES ONLY” and it is literally the most annoying thing I have ever seen. What is even worse is 50% of the time they callvote kick you when you don’t oblige.
On a side note: Can you report people who actually do manage to kick you from a public server for not sticking to their knives only request? Seriously I’m sick of it. It isn’t fun for me and I couldn’t think of anything more boring.

Totally agree man. I haven’t stumbled on such servers for a while but it’s absurd. They take property (servers) of Nexon/SD and manage it like they own it… I don’t think this should be allowed.

I think they’re so fun and tend to join in. But if you really don’t like them this would not only fix your problem but maybe leaving and finding a new server would too.

And when 50 percent of the servers become like this than what?! The game should be played as intended… ffs is this garbage. When the developers decide it’s worth it and make you such kind of games… go ahead and play in them. Until than… you are kicking players for properly playing the game and it isn’t fair. Those kicks are justified based on your stupid whim to go minecraft simulator? Hah… the insolence…

I’d miss execution. I don’t know why people say no one plays it. It’s always full and there’s always people playing.
That being said, I wouldn’t mind a couple melee only servers or matches every now and then.

I’ve played some melee only games and they were fun. Wouldn’t mind seeing such game mode 
Or not a game mode actually, but just a variant of execution, when guns and damage-dealing abilities are blocked.

Why should he have multiple waiting times and a potential loss of EXP and Credits because some guys think they need to play it on a public server instead of a private one and kick him?
The only way I can see a melee gamemode happening if all mercs will be restricted to…Skyhammer with the default loadout.
If all mercs are playable, some will dominate the game.
On the other hand, Phantom will be useable again.

I’ve tried to participate in a few of these melee matches that I chance upon, but the people in there are constantly making new rules and reasons to call what you’re doing “unfair.” (No Aura! No Phoenix! Phantom unfair! blaaaaaaaa) So, as people have previously mentioned, there’d be some hard limitations on the gamemode, and SD probably isn’t going to use server resources on a mode that utilizes a tiny portion of what the game has to offer.

What pisses me off about people going “knife only game - knife or kick” is that not every card is good for melee. If one of the enemy team has a Phoenix, it’s game over - instant heals, great speed, healthy enough to avoid being 1 shotted by heavy attacks… It’s so unfair.
And since I run a Vassili, Bushwhacker and Arty, I just can’t fight back at all (since none of them have chopper/quick slash and none of them can heal and none of them are particularly fast AND their special abilities can’t be used in a knife fight - Arty’s airstrikes and Bushie’s turrets would be cheating, and motion sensors don’t help at all in melee games).
But of course the fucking knife only kiddies don’t care and just demolish you (if you go along with their knife-only rules) or they kick you (if you don’t).

In my opinion revolver-only mode would be far more fun and interesting. Everyone has to play either Vassili, Skyhammer, Rhino, Fragger, Fletcher, Phantom or Stoker. They can’t pick any of the loadouts that don’t have a Simeon or a S&W, and they can’t use any of their primary weapons or special abilities (except for Skyhammer and Stoker’s ammo stations/boxes). Melee would also be allowed.

I never mind a spontaneous melee-only goofery, it’s all fun and games and refreshing experience.
However any time it falls into whinery and rule-making, such as mentioned above, and people joining who simply don’t enjoy such, it should be ditched and continue play “normally” instead of attempting to stick to it frantically. Spontaneousness is the key here imo.

You know who is good at melee only? Rhino. He’s not very mobile, but his enemies need to come to him in order to kill him 
I once got most kills using only Rhino in melee only game. Sparks and Aura are also good, because they are fast and can heal. Phantom is good, because he is Phantom.

What you want is a merc who can run away from battle if they start taking damage, is able to heal him/herself, but isn’t weak enough that they can die in one heavy stab.
Phoenix.
He’s above average speed, has insta-self heals, has 100 health so the opponent can only one shot you with a katana IF they have chopper, and he even has a few loadouts that have chopper which obviously helps.
Sparks is great, but the fact that she can die to one lunge attack from ANY melee weapon kind puts her out of the running in my opinion.
