This may be a stupid ass question, and pardon me if it is. Exactly what good does potent packs do on Sawbonez?
I’ve never had one of his health packs not fully heal a target without it, at least as far as Ive noticed. Does it make the health arrive faster or is there actually a cap I’m not noticing?
Potent packs on Sawbonez
If I’m not mistaken Saw’s packs heal faster with Potent Packs, and the effect is similar for Aura’ station.
Getting shot while regenerating interrupts the healing and I guess Potent Packs helps a bit with that by healing up faster. Overall I don’t find it to be that much helpful, prefer Extra Supplies as far as medic augments go.
Its more useful for self-healing, since sawbones gets a massive reduction in how much healing packs do for healing himself that 20% faster speed can be really useful
Sawbonez’s biggest disadvantage among all medics is his slowest self-healing speed, besides his slowest movement speed.
+20% self healing speed helps you a lot with that problem, even he is still the most vulnerable medic while healing himself since one single shot is going to stop the HP regen.
To be honest, even without the Get Up or Extra Supply, Potent Pack is the most vital augment for him.
Potent Pack adds so much stability to your medic game play, since all medic’s basic mind has to be ‘Always survive.’ like Phoenix, Sparks, and Aura does.
You can see me healing myself heal much quicker than default with CR42 loadout.
This is the reason why I don’t use the SM72.
The health one gets from a direct hit is much higher with potent pack, health regen when picked up and after the direct hit is faster as well.
I guess it depends on whether you place emphasis on being able to heal yourself more efficiently, or whether you are going full support.
I got SM72 during an Easter Event trade-up, and am quite happy with it. When I play medic I usually only fight to defend myself, so I much rather have both Get Up and Extra Supplies than Potent Packs.

You’re contradicting yourself. With the faster healing it allows you to be much more mobile; Not to mention the much added turn around time and thus survivability when making moves to revive players. The extra health matters especially if you take damage.

No I’m not, I’m merely relying on not getting hit that much. If you stay at the back and move with a pack, extra supplies is much more usefull than faster healing, because it allows you to heal more teammates, be it at a slower rate per teammate. Rather than bring a member of your team to full health quicker, you’re able to keep more teammembers alive.

And when shit gets tough your plan falls apart. I see it in games allllll the time. YOU die I live. Yes you are! AHAHAHAHAAHA

So what? If you die once or twice it’s not that big a deal. That’s what respawns are for. Even in Execution, if you die in one of the rounds, the entire match is not lost. Being able to heal more teammates certainly weighs up to that.
I see your type in games all the time too. They pick fire support mostly to get extra ammo for themselves, they pick medic mostly to heal themselves. Meanwhile your team is duped because they assumed that slot was taken by an actually usefull class.
