Nothing like a couple of 1900x1200 shots to show the low skybox quality and poor anti-aliasing. Such a damn shame.
Post Your Screenshots
In defense of the game, some of the skyboxes look low quality because I was very close to some of them. For instance, on screenshot #3, you will never come that close to the skybox as I was using noclip to get out that far. At a distance the skyboxes look fine. I will however agree that it would be nice to have a higher setting for AA.
Sky boxes are usually unaltered by viewer position, or free from parallax, as they are meant to simulate things that are very far off without wasting resources. Don’t know how brink’s work.
I could of sworn it looked sharper at a distance. That’s odd, considering some of them appear high quality in different levels.
MEEEEEEDIC!!!
Its possible; as SEC in RES-Spawn(Resort Map).
If you are fast enough you can run directly in their spawn. once you are in, the turrets can’t shoot at you anymore.
I’ve been in ALL the spawns regardless of what faction I am. CC and ST you die no matter what, but still can fool around for a few seconds.
Yeah, but in resort you won’t get killed if you manage to reach the spawn command post. You can stand there as long as you want without getting killed. You can even stand on the escalator, no prob.

I’m gonna be the lame downer here but I don’t think ppl should be allowed to go into enemy spawns. If I ran a BRINK server anyone that went into a enemy spawn would be perma-banned. If I were a BRINK programmer I would have made the spawn areas insta-death/kill for enemies. As soon as they enter a enemy spawn they die. I hate spawn-killing & spawn-campers. I’ve hated it ever since I first started gaming.
Brink hasn’t exactly the playerbase to perma ban people, but if that’s your opinion ok. I rather play with spawn-rapists than with bots.
And even if you are not the average spawn-killer, if your opponents are too lame you can’t just wait forever on the pillar and do nothing. Only bad teams get spawn-raped. If you push, your opponents won’t have the time to go to your spawn since they would be too occupied defending the obj.
Brink punishes hesitant and afraid players/teams with spawnrape. Its not nice, but hopefully people learn from it.
The pics I made weren’t made during an actual match. I only wanted to test something and I was alone on the map. It wasn’t my intention to go to the opponents spawn, but since I had some"mission time" left I ran around and finally tried to out-run the turrets and was very surprised that I could actually stay there. I have over 300h logged and I thought till then that you’d allways get killed by the turrets finally.
Your English (and spelling) are probably better than 75% of native speakers’.
I appreciate the ‘exploring BRINK maps’ aspect I do. I admit I have went into enemy spawns myself when exploring. The thing is if I can get in there, if you can get in there, if wolfnemesis can get in there then jerks that will spawnrape can too. That’s the issue for me. Jerks… they ruin everything.
Yeah, there are jerks, but my biggest worry is, that quite soon there won’t be anyone left. Teamplayers and jerks alike. And when I say “worry” I mean it, since there is no shooter of interest for me out there. I wouldn’t know what to play. I just started to download TF2, just to be safe. But I really became so accustomed to the game(and allways loved the overall artstyle) that I can’t imagine playing a MW shooter. My opinion(taste) is, whether I play stuff like Red Orchestra(wich I haven’t played yet) and ArmA, or something like Brink, Quake, AvP, DS 2, L4D2 etc… Meaning, whether I play a “realistic” or a genre shooter, but I’m not a huge fan of semi-realistic. And I don’t wanna sound too paternal here, but MW-shooter of any kind are more dangerous for kids then splatter shooter like L4D. Since they convey a semi realistic view on real war as opposed to AvP, Quake or Dead Space 2 wich are set in a complete fictional environment.
I mean, something like L4D won’t inspire someone to enlist(wich isn’t a bad thing by nature, but your reasons to join shouldn’t orginate from a video game). COD and MOH have this power to make the armed forces attractive for young men out of the “wrong reasons”.
There are always gonna be jerks everywhere you go. Many times you can’t avoid them! I have spent a lot of time roaming around the maps in Brink with the game set to Private 1 person only no bots just me, and watched a lot of Youtube videos about various places you can go and how in the game. The best way to take in all the creative map beauty is to explore every nook and cranny.
