So, I was at a bar for lunch (getting wasted as usual) and I came up with some interesting Brink Abilities that could be in future DLCs (I hope). Please post your ideas for new Abilities here!
New Game Mechanic: Poison - Anyone hit with “poison damage” can’t automatically regenerate health until they are buffed by a medic with the “Antidote” Ability. It’s an instant effect so the poison blast doesn’t linger like napalm and only affects the players in the initial blast radius.
“Passive”: Refers to Abilities that don’t need to be assigned to one of the three Ability slots.
“Active”: Refers to Abilities that must be assigned to one of the three Ability slots.
So here we go! All these proposed abilities would only be available to Rank 5 characters (or higher if they add new ranks).
Universal
Superior Sense of Perspective (Passive) - New key/button allows you to switch to 3rd person view at any time. (Maybe the F key when not focused on anything.)
Combat Training (Passive) - You don’t register on an enemy with Combat Intuition beyond a specific distance (30+ m?).
Veteran (Passive) - Supply pips that are used specifically to buff teammates regenerate faster.
Soldier
Extra Armor Piercing Ammo (Passive) - Your ammo buff now gives teammates Armor Piercing Ammo.
Quick Reload (Passive) - You can change weapon magazines faster.
Poison Grenade (Active) - See above description of the proposed Poison mechanic.
Operative
Booby Trap Command Post (Passive) - If an Operative with this Ability uses a Command Post that has already been Firewalled then the Operative can set a Booby Trap (in the same manner that Firewall is set), with a similar effect to a mine, that is triggered if an enemy tries to capture the Command Post.
Poison Knife (Passive) - Operative’s knife attack applies the Poison effect to the target.
Silent Kill (Passive) - Operatives with this ability will disappear from the enemies radar (until spotted again) if they make a melee kill or make a kill with a gun that has a silencer attached.
Engineer
Springboard (Active) - An object that must be placed (similar to a mine or Field Regen Unit) that launches the player high up into the air. It could either have a specific launch direction or launch you in the direction in which you are currently traveling. (I can see both offensive and defensive uses for this Ability, especially if it launches people in a specific direction.)
Trip Mine (Active) - Similar to ET:QW. (Please give us this SD!)
Poison Mine (Active) - Following the Poison mechanic mentioned above.
Medic
Self Resurrection Kit (Active) - Gives a teammate one Self Resurrection buff. (They still have the Self Resurrection timer cooldown so you can’t spam it.)
Antidote (Passive) - Health Buff also cures Poisoned condition. (Self and teammates.)
Improved Adrenaline Boost (Active) - Works just like Adrenaline Boost but the damage taken while active is completely ignored instead of applied when the effect wears off.
