ok I’m making a map that is broke off into 2 sections… I want to use a different sky box image for each section… I think I remember reading somewhere that the skyboxes would conflict with each other… Is this true?? Or is it possible to do this here are a few screen shots so you can see how my map is laid out:::
I’m not really sure if those sections are split physically. Is the horizontal line in the middle of first screenshot a brush dividing the skybox into 2 volumes?
If so, you may be able to use 2 skybox textures if you can live with the consequences: both skyboxes should have the same sun/lighting settings. Otherwise you might never know for sure which one would light the map. This means that you can’t go from day to night, or go from a clouded to a clear sky without using the same lighting.
Though beware, I have never tried this out and I have no clue if Q3Map2 will actually take this. Your best bet is to try it in a small testmap with 2 rooms before you use it in the map you are showing.
