Possible to make ASE models detail?

I have an ~7.5K poly Super Star Destroyer model that’s causing MAX_MAP_VISIBILITY. If I make it detail with CTRL-M in GtkR, it disappears. If I put surfaceparm detail in all the shaders, nothing happens.

There’s got to be a way to make map models detail, right?

misc_model entities are always detail.

It’s probably the size of your map that’s causing the error. Set _blocksize in worldspawn to 4096 or 8192 (or higher).

Wow. My entire map is just a really huge box and some entities. I have six brushes. That block partitioning alone can cause hundreds of thousands of portals? :eek3:
