possible map changes for Chapel

  1. openeing up this window might allow the attackers a safer way to get to the objective.

1.1) after opening up this window you can see my masterfully drawn attacker on his new platform to confront the defender in his common spot. In the end it doesn’t add that much and would still end the same way but its nice to have options

  1. the red lines show the current range of this mg, as you can see it hits every approach to the ev, high drop (where
snipers normally are) low road and right side drop. Is this easy to counter? more than likely but with an organized team it could be problematic.
The yellow lines show my suggest of narrowing it down so those from low road cant be hit but people from high drop and right drop can.

  2. this is the current garage, not much room or places to stafe around
3.1 this is the TDM_wc version of the garage in this one theres more room to dodge, duck dive and dodge

  1. A handful of people have been questioning this for sometime as to why the ev doesn’t go down this way, it would be substantially quicker than using the elevator

  2. the square shows the new capturable spawn point and the circle is where you would be spawning
    or the other version

  3. being able to blow out the wall lets the attackers go somewhere else apart from the current bottle necked front section

after talking on irc, it seems this isnt going to work but instead Mustang suggested using a gate hack or a simpler version would be the gate on camden, flip the latch and the gate opens

You must think the mercs have unlimited supplies! The lift is used to save petrol (The lift is controlled by our enemies, their electricity bill!). C4 is not an abundant resource either, it should be used sparingly. The economic crisis hit everybody and it’s presence is still felt in the year 2020.

Alternate explanation for using the lift:
The road next to the lift is too slippery thanks to the rain and we risk crashing into the silo at the bottom which happens to be filled with some explosive gas! (Gotta keep those datacores safe)

Screw gameplay, story and aesthetics - that’s what it’s all about!

Personally i would transform the lift in to a Vehicle Upgrade Station, with some robotic arms welding a grenade/rocket launcher on to the EV, needed to blow up the doors on the final obj. This way it make sens to escort the EV tot the lift.

The upper platform obj (red square) will become a hack the container (cvops proficiency) to unlock the rocket/ammo you need to get it to the EV. The red X obj, (engi prof.) increase the speed of the lift and robotic arms.
Also some zip lines would be cool

Love the first stage idea. Would offer much more cover for the attacking team. This would also cut about a minute off the map time which is the direction I think SD want to head.

The Elevator stage is a disaster right now. going down that slope would be so much easier and less painful.

Good work once again Volcano, it is painful to say I agree with you trust me!

Gameplay issues aside, this part is just plain goofy. I wonder why nobody at SD questioned the logic behind the attacker team having to use the elevator in the first place. I guess there wasn’t supposed to be a road right next to it.

(chrawr) #13

I want the EV to look like that. :frowning:

cant sleep must annoy potty on ts

The road was blocked off and the elevator sabotaged… presumably by the defenders. But I like that they removed the blocked off section cause that only made the map feel smaller.

(Angrim) #16

Explains a lot. They just should remember to offer some kind of explanation before releasing the map to the general public. Otherwise people are probably going to be confused and/or amused.
