Possible Idea for Balancing

More servers!

  • Level 1-9 servers
  • Level 10-24 servers
  • Level 25-39 servers
  • Level 40+ servers

Now this is really just a brainfart idea. I’ve barely thought this out, but I figured I should just put out here anyways. I don’t think it is a terrible idea. But what do I know?

Wouldn’t that just make all the servers empty? Plus, as people say, I’ll say again: levels don’t mean much. In fact, I think they should take them out of the game entirely. Give people ranks based on their recent w:l ratio, accuracy, and objective focus instead.

I don’t know what you’d hope to accomplish, but I think you’d just be making more smurfs. Instead, I think it would be more useful to have servers that go from casual to ranked.

Well if levels don’t matter, why do people shuffle just by looking at the levels of the opposite team? Like I said, barely thought this out so this probably was a dumb idea lol.

Minimum level 20 is honestly probably the only other level limited server I could see them adding.

I was thinking about something like this:

  • level 1-10
  • level 10-20
  • level 20+

I think most players that made it to level 20 are more than experienced enough to maintain themselves in games against high level players.

That’s it. 3 categories otherwise it could very well be that the playerbase is too divided.

Or… Matchmaking. Hm how 'bout that. Suddenly we’re like every other competitive game, with actual skill based levels/ranks, instead of fussing over public games.

I play CSGO and I can safely say that I don’t want to play competitive without friends as teammates. I tried a few times the matchmaking without friends and I can’t say I enjoyed myself… Even though I was in a game with people of the same rank… On the other hand I also played with my friends against players with a higher rank than me. => That was way more fun imo.

Playing competitive is in my experience never fun if you’re not playing with friends. That’s why I play pub games but since I’m not playing with friends, unbalanced matches in pub feel more irritating because you’re not talking with friends while playing a game.

I mean if you’re losing in a comp match but you’re playing with friends than it’s not a big deal, if you’re playing comp with strangers that can lead to some of the most poisonous behaviour you will ever find in any game.

I say “No thanks” to that if I’m honest

A lot of people like this idea including me, but the problem we’re dealing with right now is the amount of players in the player base for Dirty Bomb that can make this either possible or impossible.
