Positivity Thread

There’s been a lot of DB thrashing recently (with about half of it being me… sorry Shoe) But I wanted to make a thread where we can talk about what we LOVE about this game. We went to the trouble of finding the forums and creating an account, so we must like it enough to want to talk about it. So what do you love about the game?

I effing LOVE Fragger. You might have noticed. He’s pretty close to the only merc I play. I’m not gay, but I would go gay for him. (Which… may mean I’m gay I dunno lol) Dat beard doe…

I love it when my game randomly freezes at game winning moments.

Ah yes, let the positive vibes flow.

I got matched in ranked with 4 other randoms against a 5-man premade. Of course there was a leaver…

…from the premade

Making a last second plant or delivery and winning the match.
People running into your mines.
People running into your turrets.
Being the Medic for a half decent team.

Getting “The Doctor” badge without realizing

Nowadays if I see a wall I have this urge to run towards it and walljump off it for an extra boost. Even worse on the road where there are a few trucks/SUVs parking by the side…

Yes, I do double walljump in the gen alley on Bridge.

I once tried to walljump to quickly escape some mooks in System Shock 2, of course that went as well as one can expect it to be.
Thanks DB.

Worse when you’re an 80 kg fatass, and try to do it in real life.

And then your teammates actually thank you. Gratitude, when not fed for pride, can go a long way in improving performance.

It’s like a free Bullet Time, or playing Superhot.

I love the way we can shoot the sign near the attacker spawn in bridge. They removed it for a bit, but I’m so glad it’s back.

I really love this game though. I know I’ve been negative too, but I do really want it to succeed. I need my kawaii weebstick!

I love versatile mercs. Rock-paper-scissors mechanics be gone!

Especially medics, constantly shoved aside like babysitters in other class based games, lacking in combat and not fun to play (may depend on one’s taste).

I love babysitting in Dirty Bomb. Would babysit again.

I have faceplanted more objects in videogames since getting into dirty bomb than i had in the >15 years before playing  Its like you begin seeing a corridor as an opportunity rather than a chokepoint, then spend a few minutes red faced after your crumpled and broken corpse splatters to the ground.

Good fun though!

Oh really?

This sums up my experience. playing as medic in other class based games.

Support roles can frag

(blufflord) #16

the fact that the game discourages crouching, and camping in the corner whilst scoping in. Instead it allows for fast paced gameplay, which i dont see quite as well in other games.

I love when I teleport while I have less than 30 ping

Any game that isn’t Overwatch, CS:GO or Paladins is ok im my book.

So, yay Dirty bomb?

Oh, and getting air strike kills feels so great.
