I was not expecting one to be honest, however it is nice to have one to hand out (not a blessing, I am racking my brain over who to give it to). Maybe we could start cakes for keys program, bit like food for oil only tastier and less evil.
good idea Rav, have a cookie
how about cakes for custom muzzle brakes, I’d like a duckbill please if I gotta use a shottie

Yesterday at splash damage. db dev team meeting: …now lets talk about the most important part of the game… ; badman breaks in: STOP! ITS CAKE TIME
x)
watchout, DB release day will become splash damage’s official cake day lol^^
It’s a secret!
We’re also NOT running a ‘Cake 4 Keys’ program because we’d die from chocolate overdose.
Oh noes I missed the cake ! (it’s ok I don’t like sugar very much anyway… I just wanted to see it ^^)
It’s cute, I’m sure you made lots of happy people that day
Overall I really like the game so far. The player models definitely need some work in my opinion. They don’t really feel as though they belong in the world. The animations feel as though they aren’t actually walking around but more like floating, not really sure how to describe that. The maps seem great to me so far but I need to learn them and play in more then a 1v1. I think the alpha needs some more players invited specifically the USA. Looking forward to being a part of the alpha testing! Weapons feel as though they shoot where they are supposed to, and I love the feel of the weapons because for the most part it feels like I’m shooting et/rtcw style rather then cod style, it’s a nice refresh. Crouch jumping needs to be implemented. The fact that I can’t get up on ledges tha appear to be at my knees is annoying. Please fix this. Sprinting feels good, but you need to allow shooting while sprinting, no reason not too. I can do that in real life, why not have that in game with a spread penalty? Reading through the forums I see some problems with the movement system, to me it doesn’t feel all that bad. When I attempt to strafe jump or “circle jump” it really doesn’t feel like I’m slowing down all that much like in reading from some people, I may need more experience though. I feel as though the movement has some glitchy areas especially around world objects, try to fix that, specifically around the EV, quite annoying.
Overall I’m looking forward to this game because my background is completely from rtcw and et. This has the potential to be a great competitive game and you have a chance to gain a lot of money from sponsorships for competitive tournaments. Keep at this one SD, listen to both sides of the spectrum between casuals and competitive players. Competitive players aren’t just interested in the competitive only because they will play public games with casuals. ET was the best product you released, you know it and we all know it. I suggest to keep on taking a page from that book. If you add elements of et and transfer that to this game, while still keeping this game fresh and new you will have much success.
Keep at it SD, don’t fail like all other fps are doing right now, listen to your players and alpha testers you absolutely need to because they know what this game needs to be to be successful. Expect much more insight from me in the future I look forward to help building this game to perfection for competitive players and casual players alike, we will strike the balance together!
Yes there is, you’d have to add stamina.
At the moment there’s no stamina, so if you could shoot while sprinting why would you ever not sprint? Sprint becomes the de-facto movement speed so why have it in the first place, just increase normal speed to sprint speed and remove sprint. Then you’re back to square one.
Having a movement speed that is faster than normal (sprint) only means something if there’s a cost. That cost can either be adding something that limits it, like stamina, or preventing you doing something else at the same time, like shooting.
Explains why I didn’t get any. Seriously though, the gift of cake is heartwarming.
