Just wanted to clarify the protocol’s:
27015 and 27016 are UDP only?
8766 is UDP and/or TCP? Does that port need inbound forwarding?
The readme was a little unclear on the ports.
Thanks,
Sammie

Looking at netstat all ports for Brink seems to be UDP. What is strange is that the “Master” and “Auth” ports are bound to 0.0.0.0 while the game port is bound to the correct IP (from net_ip setting).
My problem is that I cannot query the servers on the “Master” port whatever I do (tried using default, running only one server, opening ports manually, opening porst for both steam.exe and brink.exe… nothing works).
Thanks. I was hoping for a dev or moderator to confirm them, but I assumed 20715 - 27016 were UDP. Port 8766 I am not so sure about. Netstat is a handy tool, but it can be misleading at times
As for your issue, it’s hard to say. More info is probably needed regarding the network configuration you have setup (especially the ip mapping and router). Have you started a topic on your issue?
After some local testing, It looks like all the ports are UDP only (as Lokalen said). I often see recommendations for router configs to open TCP and UDP ports. This is a bad idea. Only open what is required. Why put yourself at more risk for a hack? And why not include this in the readme? To me anyway, this is an important piece of the information.
My favorite thing is if I change my servers ports, it doesnt show up in the server browser. I can leave it at normal, but they also decided to use 27015, which is a common tf2 port, and the port of my tf2 server, which has been up for years and changing the tf2 port would lose that server on everyone’s favs list.
Why did SD choose 27015?
I guess it’s steam default, we got 3 TF2 and 5 Brink servers running on the same server. Brink’s ports are from 27300 to 27350 and we got no problem seen them (when there’s free slot) in the browser.

so change the the default 27015 on brink to something else, problem solved.
