Porting Maps from RTCW to ET

Hi After speaking with an activision Support dude, i raised this question on whether ported maps from RTCW are allowed to be used in ET?

GamerArena in Australia wont use them as they have heard its illegal is this true?

Is there someone better to contact or can you guys answer this question?

i dont see why map makers from rtcw wouldnt want to see all the time and effort they put into making rtcw maps , not to be used in ET

it is illegal, but everybody still does it and ID Software doesn’t seem to care ( no law suits have been put out or something like it )
