Port Forwarding

Anyone else tried all the port forwarding nonsense and still can’t seem to play a LAN game properly?

I mean why on earth does it have to use our WAN IP anyways for a LAN game is beyond me.

I’ve forwarded all the ports and everything, but I still can’t get it to work. It’s like the game isn’t even listening on those ports. I even did a port scan on my computer while my game was being hosted and I found nothing being used.

Anyone else have these issues?

Yes I had a similar issue on my home network. My wife and I connect to the internet through a 2-Wire router over an AT&T high speed DSL connection. We’ve run into problems in the past with having to forward certain ports for multiplayer games but it didn’t work for Brink. We were unable to connect through any Internet option but were able to connect using the LAN option.

The ports I opened were: 27015, 27016, & 8766 but I’m not sure that actually had anything to do with our ability to connect since it didn’t work using the internet option. Maybe it is also needed for LAN connection?

Wait there is a LAN option?
